Any value for Micro Players? HU player looking for advice
Right now my strategy is to start 6 max tables and try to play short handed as much as possible. This can go either for NLHE or PLO depending on which tables get joined first (pokerstars or full tilt, full tilt having the happy hour for short handed tables). If the table gets filled I only stay if the table is really action oriented otherwise I quit on my next BB and start a 6 max table again hoping to play HU with a person who's used to 6 max.
I believe this method is the fastest way to build my roll while following bankroll management procedures. When I played PLO50 (50bb short HU tables) it only took me 15k hands for me to lose over 30 buyins. Unfortunately with rake being harder to beat I was playing a game I needed a huge edge on, but the interest of the game kept bringing me back and I kept depositing. Eventually I've decided to grind it at the micros hoping their HU game is not as solid and one day have the roll to play at proper HU tables. Yes the rake is horrible at 50 HU and under but I having a bonus to offset the disadvantage a bit makes it a great learning fundamental tool without investing too much. Just got to make it a habit to stop playing when running bad, since the excuse of having a bonus is a unacceptable to one playing poorly.
What are your thoughts on my strategy? And would the value package 9.99$ help my case?

I think that playing short handed at low stakes is a bad thing to do. It will make you learn quickly, and may be more fun, but you're gonna be paying so much in rake that I don't think it's worth it. Just grind it out at lthe 6max tables until you have a roll where you are not getting eaten up by the rake at the low stakes would be my advice.
You're welcome to come post some HU and shorthanded hands in the Small Stakes NLHE forum. A lot of us in there play heads up as well as start tables, so there would definitely be some good discussion to be had.
