Another Range Question
Any recommended books etc on ranges? Beating 2nl/5nl comfortably without a "constructed" range as such.
Just ordered Bill Chen s MOP but i'm just wondering if there are any other helpful books?

forget about MoP,
Read Baluga's Easy Game, Let There Be Range (outdated for even nl50, but still worth a read imo), Mental game of Poker, Slowhabit's books and Ed Miller's books (beating small stakes or smth like that). Watch videos, esp live commentary/reviews videos by guys like Djunkell, Couch, Felipe Boianovsky and Steve Paul
Then, as you move up, move on to Poker's 1% from miller. Then MoP/Janda/Tipton. Start watching theory videos.
Thanks for the responses. Ye i've seen Djunkell and Cameron Couch vids and Steve paul and Felipe opening/ 1 vids. Learned alot.
Im pretty good at math so I should understand and be able to apply "most" of MOP.
My knowledge/ understanding of poker theory in general is pretty good.
I guess my question mainly relates to what limit will I start constructing a decent range. Maybe 25nl?
Regards.
If you are winning 5bb/100, you prob playing OK ranges. If not, I'd made some ranges just in case.
What kind of ranges? You can't really learn the perfect ranges for each spot in one evening, you know. (unless you're Chinese, of course) :D
I would start with essential vids - whenever I watch a poker vid, I have a piece of paper and I note down everything that bothers me/I find interesting etc. Try to do the same with the ranges you're interested in - observe what kind of hand types do coaches pick in certain spots (try to understand why a certain hand is in a particular range rather than learn it by heart), not them, study, understand, implement.
As far as books are concerned, Matthew Janda's 'Applications of NLHE' is probably what you're looking for. It can be a little outdated, though (he said so himself).
