Alternate Strategy as a result of High Rake Environment 100zoom.
Hello everyone. I am starting to become quite disturbed by the amount of rake that I have been playing recently and I'm curious about what other adjustments we are going to want to make with this high rake.
Over the last 50k hands at 100nl I have payed 6.5bb/100 :'(
I have been playing a style of 25/19/12 over the last 500k hands. I have tried to stop VPIPing in spots that are unnessisary etc and 3bet to get into pots instead of just cold calling and I'm running at 19/16/11.
I have started taking actions like 3betting UTG with hands like AA-88 from MP-BU, but I also have noticed I keep getting 4bet or called and postflop in a lot of spots it gets pretty sick.
I have noticed the rest of the players in general are pretty nitty (at least the regulars), with a mix of people in the middle and very aggressive.
Does it make sense to just start folding hands like 88 or 99 to opens if I'm sitting in MP or CO vs a UTG open as opposed to calling them? Should we continue to 3bet them?
Also if VPIPing from BU do we want to 3bet hands like 66-AA on bu vs CO or MP or should we flat our lower pairs or fold them???
The thing I'm most curious about is making a larger 3bet or 4bet or 5bet siings so we just get all in preflop so we aren't raked. If we want to make a 4bet, can we make it larger to disincentivize our opposition from calling preflop and have them shove or fold prelfop?
