AK on AT8 in 4way 3bp

Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 (6 Players) BN: $24.29
SB: $13.46
BB: $18.16
UTG: $21.67
MP: $30.01 (Hero)
CO: $12.93
all villains involved but seemingly fishy over a small sample
Preflop ($0.35) Hero is MP with A K
UTG raises to $0.50, Hero raises to $1.85, CO calls $1.85, BN calls $1.85, 2 folds, UTG calls $1.35
Flop ($7.75) 8 T A
UTG checks, Hero bets $3.00, CO folds, BN folds, UTG calls $3.00
Turn ($13.75) 8 T A 5
UTG checks, Hero bets $6.13, UTG folds

Trying to double check my play. It's not that interesting as played but how do we go about facing action? I wouldn't feel great about facing a shove on either street but I think I really should be betting the flop to protect, thin the field and get plain value vs some worse hands. Do we gii if one of the bigger stacks raises on the flop? I think this would be somewhat thin but I'll probably be up against AQ, a draw or random BS often enough to do so?!
Same question OTT. As played, I still feel like I should be betting small for the same reasons but his shoving range will now be even stronger and I don't think I could fold given his stacksize. Does that mean I should consider checking the turn more strongly to keep his range as wide as possible and collect a bigger single street of value or is this just a spot where we have to bet, hope he calls or folds and make a crying call if facing a shove?
