Advanced balancing spots and levels
SB: TheKing1958: $320.54
BB: dieparga666: $83.64
UTG: belowtail: $406.83
HJ: DiPollo: $730.83
CO: SHUR43: $373.68
Villian is a moderately aggressive reg
belowtail folds, DiPollo folds, SHUR43 folds, Hero raises to $4, TheKing1958 raises to $14, dieparga666 folds, Hero calls $10
And since some players might stab here a lot, I expect to get c/r bluffed or maybe even floated OOP.
His range probably looks like Kx, PPs like 77-AA, A5/45s/65s/AQ/AJ.
On a board this dry, he probably c-bet all of his air, but that would mean he has no air once he starts betting on later streets, thus allowing me to fold a lot of bluff catchers.
As long as I check back some strong hands as well, I should be protected here.
Pretty surprised to see him insta-fold. A hand like QQ probably takes this line, but at least thinks about calling.
He was probably bluffing, which I obviously didn't expect because he checked the flop.
Wondering how you guys approach these things?
I think one of my top 3 leaks is that I give plays like this way too much credit. I usually think ''well, he would have bluffed the flop because it's so dry, so he's probably never bluffing, and the sizing looks like he wants me to call''.
So I most likely overfold in these spots. But when I do call down to find out what they are doing, they almost always have it.
Please give me your thoughts about this subject.
Really hoping Sauce comments in this thread, because he's the guy whom I've seen do these kinds of things most.
c/c'ing SDs with initiative, c/c'ing OOP with air to bluff later etc.
Is this the same concept as discussed here? http://www.runitonce.com/nlhe/how-to-play-the-turn/
