would raise and call a shove. theres a lot of hands that he can have that you are beating 55+, flushdraws like KQhh or even Axhh and maybe AT. Just loosing to 33, 44 and TT. in all the combos possible you are loosing to few of them so its good to get it in!
you think our opponent is raising and getting in 55 in this spot?
if he is a reg no but if he is a donk i think he can raise 55. maybe not get it in but he is capable of raising. he didn't gave any info about the guy so its a bit harder to say smth!
It depends on the V's, without stats it's difficult to know if he calls a 3bet with 44-33 for example
Raise flop and call if he pushes.
Villain should not really have a raising range on this flop texture, and he's probably just clicking buttons. If he flopped a set good for him he played it horribly but still deserves to win your stack.
Why do you think villain played his (possible) set horribly here? Calling a 3 bet with TT in position for example, and then raising the flop seems kinda standard to me. I'm quite the beginner so I might be clueless though : )
Because he has position on hero, his set crushes hero's range, and flop is quite dry. Also, if he raises he removes all bluffs from hero's range. He denies hero the possibility of improving to a worse hand and stacking off with it on later streets etc. Calling such a strong hand would be good for his entire range that will include many weaker hands and draws that rail behind hero's range. If he raises TT his calling range becomes even weaker. Hope that makes sense.
If you think raising your set on the flop in a 3bet pot when you have position is standard you are costing yourself a lot of EV.
Yes it did make sense. Thank you for explaining : )
