AA in a 4bet Pot HU
The question is regarding the turn. Though I feel jamming is fine here, I felt that since a safe card fell, checking was better for several reasons. Given the range that I assigned to him, I felt that when he only called the flop, that his hand was either a float or a worse pair, plus because I have the Ad as a blocker, it limits his FD's to KdQd which I feel would also be raising the flop. If he did have an overpair or set that he was just calling, I thought he would certainly be jamming this on the turn anyway, So all the a bet would accomplish would be to fold out all his floats and weaker pairs that peeled one.
Conversely, by checking, I felt like it allowed for him to bluff his floats, and maybe even turn his weaker pairs into bluffs when I check. If he did check back, I thought that I could bet about a little less than half pot making it easy for him to bluff catch as I wasn't worried about giving a free card here as if I was ahead, he would at most be drawing to 6 outs or less ie if he peeled with KQ or a worse pair with the exception of KcQc. Thoughts?
