A5s 3bet pot
Villan is a reg. I found after a few hands after this that he is a weak reg and I should have called here, because he called a sqz in co v sb w 86s. And if he calls sqz that light I think here he has a lot of draws that could take this line. Preflop is a mix of calling and 3beting. Otf he has nut adv, but a lot of his broadway range will miss this flop and I think a 1/3 is ok, maybe we can go even bigger for like 1/2. Ott I had a dilema if I should start bluffing this hand, but I wasnt sure so I went for a check/call, we block sets and ATs. What do we do otr when he shoves? We unblock a lot of bluffs and blocking some of his value range.

If he is a weak reg you probably made a good fold instead. In my pool bad regs maybe float flop, maybe bet turn when you don't barrel but usually give up OTR. So it's safe to assume you got beat somehow.
I would size up OTF, but I'm not sure about the turn actually.

The question to me would be here, how we play our range OTT? We could argue for a rangecheck maybe. And even if we are not going to rangecheck (like betting our strong overpairs or better), we still have a well protected checkingrange (Tx/77-99).
So from a straight range-perspective we would easilly be down enough to fold A5s here OTR as we have enough other candidates that can herocall either way.
The question could be if A5 is a better call here than 99 for instance (due to blockers), but otherwise folding looks decent.
It shouldnt be a bad idea to range check ott. The 8 connects more with his range I think.
Was my thought as well....A5s is an easy fold then
nh, i would be much more inclined to barrel A5 on turns above T-> to put alot of pressure on his middling pairs wich should fold alot. On the 88, he gets there with 67s, 88, 8Ts and hands like 78s 66,77 got decent equity.
I look to check because of that, calling turn is fine, but im not thrilled calling Q river when some of his bluffs connect and its hard for him to find air. If the river is a brick it makes sense to herocall.
question for the hand: what's your range look like on the river after a x/c turn, and what's the best possible hand you can have? it feels like a spot where it'd be weak. and especially few Qx in there.
Q is a good river for IP flop floats and turn bluffs. seems like a dynamic river. I don't think A5 is ever going to be a call, but I can't imagine what hands we would have TO call. AQcc, QT, at best?
Good point. I think we have to call with any Tx that unblocks clubs, because AQcc might be a mix of betting and x/c ott.
this hand is mostly solver approved, you start to mix in folds on the turn, once you get to the river you do not need to dig this deep in your range to find calls as you should have some Tx that x/c turn and also some overpairs with a club, 98/87, TT, 88 at some freq...you don't have any high ev calldowns in this node and thats just the way this spot works given how freq you cbet flop, how good the turn is for IP, and how much you x/jam against some turn probes with overpairs without a club and some combo draws...
