This happened almost a year ago when I was observing highstakes tables on stars

Well the Invoker thinks the button is exremely polarized and overbluffing OTT. He thinks he doesnt have enough 8x to support his bluffing range and he thinks kqo is likely ahead of the bluffing range. Ive no idea if any of the assumptions are correct but thats probably what he was thinking.

his blog in russian if you curious ;)
Some day I will understand this.
I dont understand why he bet this hand, but once he bet he has pretty clear call vs MMA gutshots. MMA is way towards bluff in this spot.
Btn played this hand reasonably. Flop float with gutter 2 overs is pretty standard. Turn shove is risky ofc, but he can easily represent an 8 here and sb could still be bluffing, which he expects to fold a lot.
I dislike Sb double barrel when he will expect to get semi bluff raised a lot, by hands that might even be better like nut flushdraws. Maybe this is just a very keen explo call based on a precise villain observation, or some tiltish call. Anyway, BTn needs to balance this out with enough 8s, and some flop slowplays or stronger draws and will crush Sb in the long run.
They're both playing exploitatively towards one another in this hand (for metagame reasons we just don't know here). One is owning the other in this endeavor.
Where is chael btw? Did he quit poker after this hand? :)
He moved up to stakes where they respect his raises
I had the soul read that he was bluffing 100%, and he probably was, but then called anyway.
now busto?

anime ftw :->
tho if ur range is like 67 , TJ TQ QJ,XXss for bluff and for val 8X then his KQ is anyway same bluffcatcher as AA.. i mean he beats all ur bluffs and none value, possibly only loses to some AXss if u have that in raising range, which is imo better to call with
Would you mind giving us an insight of his plausible thinking process in this hand? Did he figure out he gave a read and adjusted consequently or did he just get a read from your action?
Turn cbet seems very uncommon aswell and it isn't a great hand to induce a bluffshove with gutshots.
No reasons to raise 8x, or any showdown value better than Khi, thats why Khi is a clear call here.
On that board there are definitely several reasons to raise a portion of the 8x, especially the ones without a spade. pls.
Would you steal cbet this hand and fire 2 ?
