this 1 I find interesting... check behind? 1/3? half pot?... bet/folding? bet/calling?

On this board it's hard somebody have nothing. But this is best hand for cbet. My bet sizing will the same as with JJ+. I think 33-40% of pot. Calling if have enough pot odds, folding if don't have.
CBing is fine here, tons of turn cards to stay aggressive on, and our SD value is wack.
I dont like smaller sizing in multi way pots my self, id go 60-75%, polar betting strategy.
so if I did 1/3 and he raised I'm folding?
Can you explain why 2/3b is better than 1/3? When we have value JJ+ you will get fold even from 99/TT, call from AJs (rarely) and set. But using 1/3bet 99/TT will call and even some back doors.
It's OK 2/3 with bluff but with value I am not shure that it is OK. But better have one sizing.
I think
I dont like 1/3 pot on this flop multiway as well,i think i'll cbet around 2/3 pot here
Cbetting is ok but I prefer a check on the flop. I don't imagine your hand is doing very well against their x/c or x/r ranges (QQ-JJ,88,AJs sometimes utg has AA). And I have doubts about how much FE we actually have on this board against 2 players.
I'd try to realize my equity as cheaply as possible. If we cbet this we have to continue against a x/r or keep barreling on turn+river otherwise we're burning money. Checking this hand also strengthens our checking back range in this spot which is nice since I assume we will also have a ton of AK type hands that want to x/back the flop.
I'd cbet more polarized here - mostly for value.
Fwiw the squeeze is too loose for my taste. I might do it exploitatively against loose ranges that are prone to folding too much but overall I sincerely doubt this is +EV at 5nlz against the 2 tightest possible ranges, and players who don't fold against 3bets nearly as often as we'd like them to.
I'd prefer to have a hand like 87s or 56s if I were to squeeze light in this spot. T9s will be stuck on the same type of boards that their ranges hit very hard, and we will often have very poor visibility 2nd or 3rd pair type hands along with draws with which we get coolered on a regular basis.
I hope this makes sense.
I agree with this above. Unless you think they are both going to fold a lot pre, this is a hand that plays great mw and in pos. I would just call pre and use post flop reads on how to play.
As played to the flop, I think if we decide to cbet we basically have to decide if we are going with the hand or not. Unless we have an extremely tight and nitty image, we can't just bet a 1/3 pot as we aren't going to be getting folds that often from 2 people, so our cbet size should be at least half pot more towards 2/3 and at that point if we bet 1.2 into 1.8 and get shoved on for 4.4 we are just about getting the right odds to call it off.
tl;dr if we cbet we have to go with the hand if we get raised. This is higher variance then I would play these stakes.
Very clear bet imo. If you got raised after betting 1/3 he'd need to size it quite large to fold.
return of Brokenstars :D welcome back home slice!
Agree with not 3 betting pre against utg open, this hand would be easier to play if we had just flatted. This is a perfect hand to play multi way in pos. On this flop I think we have to bet and defend, this is a good flop for our hand. We can't be too crushed even against sets and we have backdoor outs as well.
vs UTG open im three bet or folding unless I have a reason to adjust..
Dddog, in your opinion what are the reasons for 3 betting vs flatting ip? Seems to me 3 betting and folding to 4 bet has to be worse, convince me :)
Maximize EV with fold equity, hand retains equity well against a stronger calling range, if we three bet this it will be toward the bottom of our range so we certainly dont need to defend vs a 4-bet.
Honestly if we do flat we are often far behind a UTG range. Personally I dont do much calling against EP rfi's until im on the button. Obv players behind and there tendencies will impact the strategy I use here. But on a default level this is a three-bet or fold for me from this position against EP, maybe calling a small % of the time.
As a default I'd agree with Dddog. If there's a whale in blinds I call behind quite often though.
