Analyze your range when you get to the river in this hand. Generally speaking, you can value bet relatively light if your range is heavily weighted towards missed draws. In this case, there are a large number of gutters (AJ and AQ would often take a showdown but presumably you're 3betting those preflop) and open enders that missed so you should be value betting 2nd pair all day.

On the flipside, there are some spots where your flop calling range will contain so few bluffs that you're better off checking and hoping your opponent bluffs the river. This isn't one of those spots.

That helps, but you can just look at the flop texture and how many draws you have in your check calling range. IE A82 rainbow is pretty drawless so if you C/C the flop and the turn checks through, any river bet from you is going to look strong. For that reason its not a bad spot to turn 87s into a bluff if the turn is a T through K.

Not sure what you mean here. If you C/R A82 rainbow you're repping a narrow range of made hands and a lot of crap, so you want to weight your air/made hands accordingly based on the player you're up against.

Good posts in this thread. Just wanted to let you know that if you click the reply button underneath someone's post that you can reply directly to their post rather than to the entire thread. ;)
