Villian is 27/20, and has a call open from SB at 7 %. He is also c/r flops 14 %.

Do we cbet here? Can't see us getting value from worse and think we're getting c/r quite a bit here

I usually do. You can definitely get called by worse. Ax mostly. Also when he does c/r I don t think he has 33,22,55 that often and you can call. Its not the most exciting but theres gotta be enough value from Ax to bet flop, turn.

Also checking gives free cards to overcards which there are a fair number of them and that really sucks.

Agreed with Wm2k that checking makes your life pretty tough given all the overcards. Given that it's a rainbow board I also wouldn't expect to get check raised as much meaning that your flop bet is likely to get you to the river if you want it to.

If villain calls the flop bet and the turn checks through, what's the plan against a standard / unknown opponent
if they lead the river? (Turn and/or river are overcard(s), and we don't improve)

I struggle a fair amount in these kind of spots. Is folding most of the time a leak?

"Is folding most of the time a leak?"

Probably not, their only real floating range is going to be Ax on this flop and given that they flatted SB vs MP they likely only have AJ/AQ type hands and at least some % of the time those hands are just going to take their showdown.
