This is a spot which seems to be coming up frequently, and where I often end up folding pretty strong top pair type hands. And it always feels a little bit dirty afterwards. The above hand history is just one example to illustrate my point.

I was hoping to read some of your thoughts on the matter, and I am looking for some advice/reinforcement regarding my line and how to improve construction of my range in similar situations.

Pre-flop I opted to just call as opposed to 3betting mainly because I had no reads on villain in this large player pool.
Post-flop I think that calling both flop and turn my best options.
When villain sizes up on the river I expect him to be pretty polarized, and I am worried he does not have enough bluffs in range to make calling AQ 0 EV or better.

Given villain's sizing on the river I should defend [ 1.27 / (0.95+1.27) ] = 0.57% of my range correct?
From those positions I almost always 3bet QQ+, AK, KQo, A8s-A2s, 87s-54s preflop.
My preflop calling range is something like JJ-66, KJs-KTs, KQs-JTs.

On the flop against villain's sizing I often call one street with JJ-TT and fold 99-66 without spade. I also fold all KQs-JTs without the flushdraw which leaves me with a pretty narrow but very strong range on the turn. AQ and ATs being a big part of it that has not improved to two pair.
I'd call this river with JJ, AJ, jam flushes, and fold everything else.

I really hate how narrow this range is and how many hands I discard at this point.
I think villain will be value betting most of his Ax combos which he opened preflop on the flop and turn, along with all his flushes, sets, a good number of draws, and some random stuff.

I don't think he will be 3 barrelling all his Ax but I have no way of knowing.
Maybe one of you can shed some light on how to put villain on a more sensible range for taking this line.
Correct me if you think that I'm wrong but a hand such as AQ and ATs seem to be the bottom end of my range so it is an easy fold otr right? Even so, I feel that if I fold all those combos I end up folding so much, and get to showdown with an incredibly narrow range.

Your advice is much appreciated.
