5NL Zoom - CO vs BB, river decision

BN: $7.18
SB: $5.25
BB: $5.30 (Hero)
UTG: $5.04
HJ: $2.63
CO: $14.10
CO was playing 43/38 (really small sample of about 30 hands)
WWSF 33%
Opening 60% from the CO
Preflop ($0.07) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt J Q
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO raises to $0.15, BN folds, SB folds, Hero calls $0.10
Flop ($0.32) Q 9 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.20, Hero calls $0.20
Turn ($0.72) 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.30, Hero calls $0.30
The really small sizing made me think he was on a draw, but lots of players at these stakes do this with big hands as well.
Without any reads, and given this sizing, is calling fine here?
River ($1.32) 2 (2 Players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.70
Thoughts on calling here?

ah defo CR here otr, he does this will all his value range that he's not good enough to chk with hands like A8 (actually may bet larger ott sometimes), AQ, AA, KK, Q9. Sizing wise its close between crai and small CR - guess you have 4.30 back otr and pots 2$ after he bets, so you CR to 2.50ish making it 1.80 for him to call to win a 4.50 pot would be ok (leaves you some room to fold if he insta jams aswell) pretty sure he never folds any value hand, although at these stakes i tend to just rip it in and nearly always get called by worse although that doesn't make that the best play against decent players (something to think about)

i prefer 3bet preflop since we have no info on opponent it will be eaisier to play with initiative
i would also X/R river to get value from trips, 2 pairs and overpairs + lot of smallest flush

3bet pre for me. Def c/r on river, I can't see how can he has better hand with line like this. He is so deep, so I would put him on JJ, AQ,KQ,T9, mabye 8x. Weaker flush is also possible (because of small cbets he played) but wouldn't mind about that. I would raise to 2-2.3$ and fold if he shoves, but expect call there almost always.

this is like the 77 hand i just looked at everyone want to 3B BBvCO with QJs and 77? if you are 3Bing these hands what is left for you CC range? is everyone 3B a 9% linear range in this spot (77+, AJs+, KJs+, QJs, AJo+, KQo)?

to my way of thinking QJs or 77 both play much better as CC rather than turn them into thin value bets or thin bluffs?

as played - raise river for value

i agree that just b/c you ahead of someone s range doesnt make a hand a great 3B, but vs a guy opening so wide if i see them defending all kinds of crap JQs is amandatory 3B imo

well IF he calls our 3B with 30% of hands minus QQ+/AK that he 4Bs i think it is hard to argue for value bet as we aren't really getting called by worse. not saying the 3B isn't +EV as he may fold flop to our CBs too often

BU 49.36% 47.45% 1.91% { QJs }

with 77 our equity is better but i think we will have more problems postflop and it may be hard to fully realize our equity OOP

BU 56.58% 56.09% 0.48% { 77 }

if opponent calls our raise with a ~13% range we are behind with both 77 and QJs in pure equity and we are also in danger of being in a RIO spot OOP. so 3B vs this type of player we only manage to isolate ourselves vs a stronger range OOP so he better be folding tons pre or post flop. If he is fold too much pre/post there is no reason to waste a good calling hands like 77/QJs by turning it into a bluff

Interesting but what do you 3bet oop? I prefer depolarized so qjs because they call a lot ip and often flat 77 because hard to play pistflop so dont want to create big pot oop
