5/10 with 99 OTB facing a 3 bet and cold 4 bet
CO: $1027.06
BN: $1180 (Hero)
SB: $1000
BB: $1037
UTG: $1000
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $25, SB raises to $85, BB raises to $175, Hero folds, SB folds
I guess this is just a line / thought process check on what I consider a really simple fold. any opinions? mainly looking to see if someone sees something majorly wrong with what I'm thinking. (the math is pretty basic and I did it in my head so if it may be slightly off...just looking for the big picture). I guess my biggest takeaway is if a hand as strong as 99 is such a clear fold, I should start cold-4 bet bluffing a lot more than I do.
this is vs two of the better winning regs on the site...just wondering what you guys are willing to stick in here. I have almost no bluff range here. like literally for me bluffing is 99-JJ and AQ if I see the guy is cold 4 betting too much and I think he can fold.
the guy in the sb 3 bets the button about 10% but has only folded to 1 out of 9 4 bets. (I know sample size but I guess he's either just 5 bet bluff happy or has a very wide value range?)
BB has a cold 4 bet of 5% overall (I don't have this stat for this situation specifically...i'd imagine it would be higher). Also BB just cold 4 bet me 10 hands ago after I 3-bet a fish (and he folded to my 5 bet). So I'd say he's likely polarized somewhat here?? I dunno if that's too quick to come to that conclusion. But based on his overall preflop game and hands I remember him showing down all in preflop, I'd say I'm probably right.
so let's say vs BB, he is gonna fold half the time if I jam? and I'm basically screwed the other half. (JJ+, AK? maybe one combo of TT?)
then I figure say the SB only continues with QQ+, AK...he'll have that about 25% of the time?
so there will be times that those ranges overlap...so I prob get folds from both .50 * .75...so say about 40% of the time max? then I win like 30% of the time when the money gets in. (a little more vs one person...a little less when they both call).
so 40% of the time I win $285 and 60% I am losing $700ish. = .4*285 ... so net of -$300 or so?
