50nl Zoom Question

Hey Guys,

A friend of mine has recently moved to Mexico to grind online.  As an American I've barely played online in almost 2 years, and so my main game these days plays quite a bit differently than the ones he's currently playing in (I'm a 5/10 and 10/20 live grinder these days).  Mostly he's been grinding 50nl.

He's been struggling with it a bit so I've been coaching him some and trying to help him out.

We did some work on preflop and I was surprised to re-discover how tight you have to play against the nitty guys at or <100 bb deep.  Kind of depressing tbh.

Anyway I have a few question for you guys who play in these games more regularly.

1.  KK Preflop.  I've always come from the school of assuming that getting in KK pre 100bb deep is just completely standard.  Online it seems to be a little bit of a different story.  It seems a lot of guys at these stakes are calling 3bs with KK rather than 4b them to get them in.  Do you guys find the same thing?

2.  Short Stacks.  These guys are everywhere.  How are you guys adjusting your strategy to deal with guys playing 50, 70 bb short stacking strategies?  I find I have the most trouble giving my friend advice in the 50bb category. Any advice here?  Do you find they have any specific leaks or anything they have trouble adjusting to?  Are you ever flatting?

3.  Stats.  Are there some stat "thresholds" you look for in players?  IE, what do you expect to see things like: turn barrel, Aggression Factor, raise CB, etc. at usually.  The stats seem great but Im so out of touch with HUDs now that I don't have a good feel for what numbers indicate someone who is getting out of line, etc.

4.  General Play Pool Reads.  Do you guys have any general tendencies you commonly see manifest in these player pools amongst the fish, the regs, etc.  We've played a few spots where fish have spazz shoved into us and it's a little confusing to say the least.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it

1. Its usually a stackoff, i think the average reg 4bets KK.
There are rare spots were folding KK pre is good tho, just verry rare.

2. The real shorstackers are terrible at playing postflop, so try to take your advantage of it IP.

3. I look at how much they fold blinds, and how much they open, that gives me a good idea about the ranges they play.

4. Generally ppl fold blinds too much both btn-blinds and bvb spots.

1)stack off

2)the most importad is there stats if he is like 60/40 with 70bb ->open your 3bet ,4bet range,if he have like 30/20 don´t play again him small pair(set mining is not good again 70bb stack ,and they are bad and dont fold too much on 2barrel or some raise postflop with your small pair)

3)i think importend is fold to 3bet ->some fish guys have this stat like 10% :D,3bet them with wider range IP,and if they have more than 70% you can wider 3bet with almoust any two (good is blockers :Kx,Ax)

and another great statistic is Went to showdown (WTSD)something like never call raise from villian on river who have only WTSD 15%

4)you need be much more worry and fold happy if you was raise on the turn

3) Cbetting: you find guys who cbet 80, 50 and 35 on flop, turn and river (sample size should not be too small). Against these guys you should call/raise often OTF, but fold OTR.

4) According to my experience: On the river, large bets and/or raises are extraordinarily strong, so be happy to make exploitive folds. It seems like often people have close to 0% bluffs/ thin value bets in these spots. On the other hand, people tend to hero call even against big bets on the river, so value bet thinly and choose your bluffs carefully.

regarding 1, I wasn't really asking whether or not we should stack off with KK I was more curious if you guys find that other regs don't

Some good info in those posts, thanks guys!

Hmm ye i usually see regs stack it off, there are some nits that dont stackoff utg-BB or utg-mp esp when it gets 150bb+ deep.

Btw its a perfectly fine strategy to flat your KK when you open from UTG, when you dont have much dynamic. Their 3bet range vs utg's are usually strong esp utg-mp or utg-blinds.
ppl ofthen flat AK in that spot, so they only 3b KK+ and bluffs, they only going to 5bet shove KK+ vs your 4bets so ye. Ofc when you got dynamics and have aggo image etc it becomes fine to 4bet KK again in that spot.
