50NL Tough Spot with our Range

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (6 Players) SB: $50.25 (Hero)
BB: $67.32
UTG: $49.70
MP: $50.00
CO: $50.00
BN: $64.80
Opener is Tag running 22/19/ 7.3 and BB is a weaker player
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is SB with K J
2 folds, CO raises to $1.25, BN folds, Hero calls $1.00, BB calls $0.75
Flat pre as villain in BB is a weaker player so think our hand is strong enough to defend
Flop ($3.75) Q 2 J
Hero checks, BB checks, CO bets $2.25, Hero calls $2.25, BB folds
No real debate on flop think check call is best way to proceed
Turn ($8.25) Q 2 J J
Hero bets $2.50, CO calls $2.50
On turn I choose to lead as I think this card hits our range more and he also had a high flop cbet of 79% but this dropped to 36% on the turn.
River ($13.25) Q 2 J J Q
Hero checks, CO bets $7.00, Hero calls $7.00
Bad river for our range as we never really lead any Qx hands on the river. We can play some draws like KT and 9T this way as well as Jx and 22. He can still have all his Qx hands as well as some draws and overpairs like KK/AA. Assuming this is the range we get to this spot with does bet folding using a smaller betsize make sense on the river as we mainly have medium value hands or should we be check calling sometimes in this spot as well?
