Folding pre is probably fine, but if you want to construct your ranges to not just be PP ad broadway heavy in this spot, then yeah flatting here pre is probs fine, but i wouldn't expect to me making much money, if any. That being said this is NL50 and we don't need to balance our BTN calling range, so i would rather just fold.
Anyway, as played:
Calling flop is fine, since you have plenty of backdoor equity to go with your pair. I wouldn't really consider raising, without a specific read that gives me reason to do so. However, considering this flop is likely far better for your range than for a tight UTG range, you could consider raising, but again i would rather wait till later in the hand to apply pressure.
Turn: yes calling is fine, but thinking deeper here might be more rewarding. Considering you have 9 combos of sets in your range, and you block top set for villain and pair +flushdraw combos. The turn brings a card that is pretty ugly for your strong hands, as the river is likely to come with a decent amount of bad cards, thus tough decisions will be highly likely.
At Nl50 Villains range probably still contains all overpairs, clubdraws, and back door hearts with two overs. Yes he can have sets, but remember you block the top one on the flop, so he has far less combos of pure strength value hands that have you crushed.
All this leads me to believe that we can really start to apply pressure to his range, that is far more over pair and draw heavy than nutted. The vast majority of his range is going to have to sigh fold the turn, and your therefore deny him a tonne of equity. And if you are crushed you still have plenty of outs to improve.
Conlusion: raise the turn because we block sets, have lots of outs when we are behind, and villain likely hates his life when he gets raised in this spot.
I expect lots of nl50 villains to sigh-call turn as well without a river plan. Should we give-up the river unimproved?
I think calling pre is pretty bad; you should respect the UTG opening range of TAGs.
Calling flop is standard.
On the turn, we have a bluff-catcher with a lot of outs. By raising, I can see how the villain could fold better. My standard play in this spot would be calling turn, and folding most rivers, as his line is just so strong.
Reguarblue's thoughts on raising are very interesting, and I think he could be correct, but all things considered, I really don't feel like fighting back against the villain in this spot is +EV, as we're making him fold all the hands we could bluff catch against otr, and also possibly getting it in bad (or not realizing our equity if we decide we're not priced in to call a 3b) where conversely we could make our hand and potentially get paid off.
