5 betting 100 bb deep
We are sitting on the big blind, villain is a good agro reg on the BTN, we both have 100bb stacks. This is a common scenario:
1) villain opens the BTN to 2bb,
2) we 3-bet to 8bb,
3) villain 4B to 16bb,
4) the pot is now 24.5bb and currently you see regs only fold, call or jam.
What I am interested in is why people are not 5B bluffing to sth like 35bb more often?
The positives of this play are that our 5B bluffs are much cheaper, and when we are 5B for value villain can bluff jam over our small 5B.
But on the other hand you could get into some ugly spots if you do this with AK, QQ, JJ, TT and they call your 5B.
So lets say that we want to have a balanced range for this small 5B. For starters lets say we only do it 50% of time with AA, KK and QQ which gives us 6 value combos. What do you think are good hands to do this as a bluff? I think suited aces are good enough to call preflop, maybe we can do it with some suited connectors, suited one gappers that we bluff 3B preflop. And then we can jam the flop if we pick up some kind of draw.
