I am tryng to improve my game in this aspect: Overbets, I think is an area which i don´t exploit, and probably would be very profitable. Put our opponents in front of scenarios that they are not use to be. There is when they can do bigger mistakes.
In the past i just overbeted in a few spots, mostly for value ( almost always ), when im facing opponents who i feel that he always are going to call. This scenarios are not too many, but i want to make a solidier strategy. Now im tryng to think how wide are my value/bluff combos, then try to figure a size which i can bet making him indifferent to call with his bluffcatchers. But ovbiously could be that i ll be making some mistakes. What do u think about this hands that i overbeted ? I´ll post this first one here, and then open another Part2, or maybe 3, with more hands.
At the time while i was playing the hand my quickly river thought process was: " I have like 25/30 bluffa/value ratio combos (i dissccount like 15 value combos which i spect be raising in flop/turn) , if this is a spot where i want to create a strategy to take the pot 100% of the time. I can´t bet all my air with a normal size or he will call me, i must to create a strategy who includes overbets".
Is this tought proccess right ? Am i missunderstanding something ?
Another thing that i note is that i would be raising almost 100% a hand like A9 in the turn, because i think that i miss too much value if i don´t do it, specially against aggresive opponents. But now that we are trying to construct an overbet river range, could be that calling turn turned better than before in order to make our river overbet range stronger ?
His openraise is 24%, so im not defending so wide..
Once i get to the river my range splits between:
Nut Hands: 22,44,88,99,89s, A9s, A8s, A2s (21 combos, i think i should disccount at least half of this, let´s say 10 combos of nutted hands)
Medium Strenght Hands: AT, AJ, K9s (27 combos)
Air: JT, 76s, QJcc, QTcc, 75cc, 65cc (24 combos)
How should i contstruct my range in order to have 2 differents bet sizes ( overbets and 3/4 pot)
Should i bet..
Medium Streng Hands + Some Aire = 3/4 pot
Nut Hands + Aire = 1.5-2x pot
