3bpt OOP, 2 barrels?

Blinds: $0.02/$0.05 (5 Players) UTG: $4.79
CO: $5.00
BN: $6.91
SB: $5.00 (Hero)
BB: $5.83
Preflop ($0.07) Hero is SB with T K
UTG calls $0.05, CO folds, BN raises to $0.20, Hero raises to $0.70, BB folds, UTG folds, BN calls $0.50
Flop ($1.50) Q 8 9
Hero bets $0.44, BN calls $0.44
Turn ($2.38) Q 8 9 9
Hero bets $1.40

Is it okay to barrel our hand? I mean from the theory perspective it should be just fine.. if my range looks like this: 88+,ATs+,A5s,A4s,JTs+,QTs+,KTs+,AQo+. I would range cbet OTF for a simplification..*

So my bluffs OTT are KJs,KTs,Ah5h.Ah4h,AhJh,AhTh, Value range probably KK,AA,JTs (AQ is maybe better as an x/call since it blocks his Qx calling range.. right?)

Btw villain is unknown and preflop it is pretty close.. could made it even bigger

*but after some work in equilab, I have concluded that this board is definitely better for his range. So its probably not the best to cbet this flop with our entire range. But this combo might be actually fine to cbet, but using bigger sizing, however, checking range could be optimal as well.

I think your preflop raise is too small OOP, and this flop hits his calling range really hard so I don't like range cbet. What can he call pre that folds on this flop aside from underpairs?

I wouldn't mind just folding preflop, we have to commit a decent % of our stack with the 3b here.

If we are going to cbet this flop the sizing should be bigger.

Thanks, I mean I was aware of probably all of that in game.. but it was all in mind..however, it was pushed away by emotions (lost few bi before that.. was sitting out on next blind at that time).. I feel like I had a syndrome that I should win it back.

Btw sometimes I just forget that I am playing against someone.. I am just looking at my range, my bluffs/value in a specific spot and based on that making decisions.. I should be definitely more taking into consideration board and how it interacts with our ranges..

Agree with _michael_ , size up preflop. Im playing 3b only range here and KTs would be in it. Depending on the opponent, I think you could exploitatively keep the size somewhat down (maybe make it like 0.58), assume that all his lower pairs are still going to fold and get away with it on those limits. If the opponent is sticky, then size up.

9 wont be a great card to barrel on, you would get folds from 8x at most and his range improved overall, while still calling your second barrel pretty often.

4.4x pre , we have range advantage , same number of JT 2prs., we have all sets, but we have JJ+ and vill doesnt

flop sizing is good , maybe 35 % pot, when villian just calls his range is capped.

turn is a brick, 1/2 pot ish is good , ideally we want to set up river overbet shove maybe 125% of pot or so

shove the river when the flush gets there and we gave a good blocker, when the flush misses and we unblock flushes , any card thats good for our range , and of course when actually have it.

This sets the dynamic for villian, easy to under fold flop to small bet ( float too wide IP), maintain somewhat bloated range thru turn , esp bricks, then overfold to river overbet.

If villian develops a flop raising range, we can fold alot due to small sizing , and if we bet, for example , 7 bb into 20bb and villian raises to 25bb , we can continue pretty wide for this price.

This sets up the turn with us oop and 1 psb left, ship it when appropiate?
