3b bluff vs early/mid position
I wanted to share some numbers I've doing to know whats a good hand to 3b as a bluff vs an early raise, and maybe some mid positions as well.
I made the comparison between KQo and AJo. There are some things that I take into consideration to make this analysis.
1) The range that I'm 3betting is a 17/18% range (which I show you in the image). The 3 pics are OR chart, Folding to 3b and Calling/4b to 3b.
2) His A3 to A5s is in his 4b range so I put them into the "value" category.
3) I assume that we have to fold PPs from 99 or below a % of times because sometimes we don't have the odds to play vs a short stack, the raise it's too long, etc. So I put half of the combos in the calling range and half in the folding range (which it might not be correct to assume that its 50/50, but for practical purposes I did it this way).
4) I'm not taking into consideration post flop play.
KQo
Total # hands: 234
Calling/4b: 106 combos
Fold: 128 combos
Block Value: 15 combos
Block fold: 9 combos
%
Block Value: 15/106 = 14.15%
Block fold: 9/128 = 7.03%
% Dif = +7.12%
AJo
Total # hands: 234
Calling/4b: 106 combos
Fold: 128 combos
Block Value: 18 combos
Block fold: 13 combos
%
Block Value: 18/106 = 16.98%
Block fold: 13/128 = 10.16%
% Dif = +6.82%
So, they have a really close result, but KQo has it's slightly better, so if I case to have to choose 1 of the 2 I'd take KQo.
Feel free to make some considerations and play with the numbers as well so it might help to come to a different conclution.
I Hope you like the post and helps. Any feedback or comments are appreciated.
