3/6 hand online on Carbon...get to river with 2nd nuts effectively and want to puke
Its 6 handed I am in CO with QQ, Villain is SB. Villain has not been table long but seems to be a thinking, decent player for these stakes. I do not have a HUD. I have about $1300 in front of me, Villian has just over $600. We have limited to no history against each other.
Holdem No Limit ($3/$6) Holdem
HERO Hole Cards: Qd,Qc
UTG Folds, HJ Folds , HERO Raises $16.00, BTN Folds, VILLAIN(SB) Calls $13.00, BB Folds
FLOP: 2c,Ad,Th
VILLIAN Checks
HERO Checks
TURN: 5c, Community Cards: 2c,Ad,Th,5c
VILLIAN Checks, HERO Bet $19.00 (into ~$37), VILLAIN Calls $19.00
RIVER: Qh, Community Cards: 2c,Ad,Th,5c,Qh
VILLIAN Checks, HERO Bet $69.00 (into ~$75) , VILLIAN Raises $229.50
I think vs a thinking player who is pretty much never bluffing here this is much closer to a fold than I initially thought in-game. I am overthinking this cooler? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks

definitely call, its carbon. i'm not sure if raising with 22/55/TT are mistakes in his spot OTR but these games play loose anyway.
Thanks for the quick response Nick, my reasoning looking back on the hand is that I think its very unlikely he is checking turn and then not C/R with a lower set. I would just be surprised if he has a very balanced checking twice range. And although the games are loose, I would expect most players to look at my river near-pot and just call with non-nut value hands and never bluff because it so expensive. That being said, I am probably overthinking this hand and should just be listening to your advice bc you are a boss and I am a nowhere near that for midstakes cash. Thanks for the input!
I'm calling, the only thing he could have that's better is KJ (and 43) but would he really call a turnbet with that hand? He probably raises with lower sets, maybe some two pair.
I'm calling here probably too often in game, but having a few minutes to analyze and think it over I have to go with it's tough but a pretty solid fold...there's a quite a few hands in his range that would 100% call the turn (KcJc is what I'm most afraid of and all combos of 34) and there is not much he can raise this river comfortably with.
If you're playing against a maniac throw all of this out the window and call but I just don't see how many 2 pairs or set combos here that don't raise the turn (AQ is likely a 3b pre as well as QQ). The only hands we have beat are A5, 22, and 55 and obviously air.
I would call since you have a sneakily strong hand and are effectively at the top of your range (AA bets flop, KJ likely doesn't delay cbet turn).
Yeah situation sucks because I don't expect many opponents to take this line as a bluff, but I'm still calling. Vilain ppbly doesn't have any 43s combos when calling from the SB, and some players aren't calling KJo there either (they would 3b or fold ; actually even KJs will 3b sometimes). All in all, vilain can only have KJ to play this way (that beats us I mean), so if we consider some combos are discounted preflop + some are discounted on the turn (because some players will lead with those, and some might check-raise turn, but that is more rare). IMO, given previous action, vilain credibly reps 8 or 9 nut combos + we can imagine him value raising some TT or 55, so he needs what? 1 or 1/2 combos of bluff for the call to be profitable?
Unless I'm very very confident on the way opponent plays, I can't fold ever.
