2nlz, call the 3bet? Flop favorable.

Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) BN: $2.00
SB: $3.93
BB: $2.00
UTG: $2.23 (Hero)
MP: $1.79
CO: $2.47
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is UTG with J 9
Hero raises to $0.06, MP folds, CO raises to $0.18, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.12
3-bet looks small to me here, figure I can't fold
Flop ($0.39) T 9 9
Hero checks, CO bets $0.18, Hero raises to $0.80, CO folds
Elect to go for check raise, hand feels slightly vulnerable to me with the connectedness/suit
Final Pot UTG wins $0.72
Rake is $0.03

Two questions here. Was it right to call the 3-bet here? I figure a CO 3-bet against a LJ open is pretty strong, but the sizing was a bit small so I decided to call. What's your thought process for calling 3-bets in spots like these?

The next question is how to best get value? Flop is pretty favorable, trips, but I thought my hand was still some what vulnerable due to the diamonds/connection. Check/raise a good play, or should I have led out? What's the best way to get value on a flop like this?
