I was thinking about check-raising the flop here, type of value/protection when vil only have over cards or a draw but since I don't have the 8 of diamond its making it more likely he had a diamond draw so I just go for the check call with no diamond and go for a check-raise with the 8 of diamond. Or is that a wrong way to think about it?

Thats just the worst card right? Anything he was bluffing on the flop just got there (AKo with a diamond, any high pair with a diamond etc). So I just can't see any reason to continue here, as weak as my line looks like here, I guess it's just the kinda life in the SB?
Is there any sort of aggression I should be adding on my line here? I feel like a weak nit but finding an aggression on any point in any streets in this hand, to me, feels kinda spewy. Or am I thinking it wrong?
Thanking in advance guys....

3-bet pre. If you flat, and then call a squeeze, your range is very narrow and not very strong. Mid-to-low pairs and some suited broadways (maybe some suited connectors because you're quite deep).
As played, seems fine. You can even fold flop, as nitty as that sounds. The turn is a really bad card, so it's definitely a fold.
True, that.
Either 3 bet preflop or fold after the BB 3 bets. Your basically set mining and OOP which makes it a very difficult spot.
As played folding turn is the correct play.
