$2/5NL Live: AK multiway

Took a shot at the 2/5 local game today. Had a couple hands to post. Looking for improvement.

Hero is UTG+2 ($800 ish)
Vil 1 is CO (has $1200+) he's been fairly tight pre, doesn't 3bet often, bets light if checked to, but otherwise doesn't do much crazy
Vil 2 is BU (has about $1000) he's been agressive for sure; 3bet me several times as I tend to fold pretty often to 3bets (something else I need to work on) still aggressive most streets
SB had $2000+ and has been pretty agro and winning obv, BB was new to table w/ $500ish

I got AhKc, raised pre to $15, both villians and both blinds call, so 5 players on flop.

FLOP: Ad 8d 3c

Checked to me, I bet $40 (?), CO calls, BU raises to $180 blinds fold.

Hero ??

Raise bigger pre. 15 is inviting multi way action in a live 2/5 game. Never folding to this raise from an aggro player. Just call and check turn and let him hang himself. If he barrels 3 streets can maybe fold river.

Not sure I understand. Making it $20 pre may still have gotten 3 callers. I'd raised to $15 plenty of times where everyone folded or just one caller. Raising bigger pre doesn't change the critical point in the hand.

And your post flop strategy is to put over half my stack in then fold river? If I call $180 I'm expecting him to barrel $300ish on turn.

What range does an agro player have to raise like this in a 5-way pot?

I'm not sure how aggressive and large your 2/5 normally is but i'd agree you should probably raise a bit larger pre flop. Where i play 15-20 is pretty standard in the 1/3 games and not uncommon to see 35-50 pre flop in our 2/5 games. I'd probably try to find a raise that only invites 1-2 callers. You'll find its much easier to make decisions playing someone heads up vs having 2-3 other people in the hand.

As far as his range goes thats more for you to decide. What kind of hands have you seen him show down when he's playing extremely aggressive? If he has been showing down a lot of single pair hands it makes sense to call and let him hang himself. If you see him doing that a lot with big draws then possibly just raise and get it in against a diamond draw. If he normally shows down 2 pair or better than its a pretty easy fold. In general on the button an experienced aggressive player could easily have anywhere between 35-50 percent range there. To be honest though if you have been letting him bully you and are folding to a lot of 3-bets than its likely he has a worse ace or the same hand and knows you wont stick it in without having at least 2 pair. That being said calling down isn't horrible. If you hadn't been folding to his aggressiveness so much id say its pretty easy to just find a fold and wait for a hand with more value against him. Both decisions have some merit but I think simply from knowing you are possibly just taking a shot at a bigger game and he sees you may be playing a little more scared by folding so much to him he could easily be pushing you around.

I'd definitely Cbet a little larger. Pots 75 going to the flop. I'd say somewhere around the 50-55 range (also id raise larger probably 20-25 preflop) I think overall folding here is fine if you sized larger and looked stronger but your sizing looks weakish to me and villian could of perceived that as well. Is villian a maniac or a winning laggy player. This matters as in a winning laggy player knows your not betting into 4 others with air and your at the top of your range. If that's the case villian almost always has the same hand, combo diamond draws, exactly A8 or sets. If he is a losing maniac it's a toss up spot and I'm calling one or two streets and folding river jam or deciding based on the sizing on turn if I'm going to stick with the hand and go the distance. I hope that helped.

I'd kinda had his number most of the day. Got stacks in with him earlier my KhKx vs AhQx on hhh flop and held up. Many other hands I'd had him outkicked and won smaller pots, by then he'd 3bet me and take down the pot really often pre.

A lot of people around the table knew him by name and he knew people joining the table by name so he has to play there often. Not sure if he's a winner but def a reg. This was my first shot at 2/5 game.

I couldn't figure if even an agro player would bluff raise/value raise less in a 5way pot when the tight guy raised, bet an A high flop (5way) and got called. Just don't think he could bluff there often enough so I folded.

But it felt super weak to fold AK on Axx flop to a single bet and raise. Was wondering if I was playing scared cause of the higher limit. (Normally play the 1/2 game)
