Had this spot last night playing $2/$5 at the Brogata, effective stack size $700
Folds to hero in HJ, raise to $20 with A4ss, CO folds, BTN (middle aged guy) raises to $60, SB folds, BB folds, Hero 4-Bets to $155, BTN calls...
Flop: Ac Ad 5c ($317)
Hero checks, BTN bets $170, Hero calls...
Turn: 2h ($657)
Hero checks, BTN checks...
River: 10d
Hero?
Thanks for the replies!

I’d just check river and probably call a bet.
Thanks, that's what I thought in game: check A4/A3 to protect KK and bet A5/AK/AA. But now I'm thinking maybe we should bet nutted hands big (all-in) and bet A4/A3/KK small like 1/4 - 1/3 pot in case he's sticky with KK/QQ/JJ.
I'd expect KK to jam pre, and possibly QQ as well.
So you're really looking at value from JJ. His value range is pretty narrow, so I'd think we can check to get poor bluffs from him. If he's super passive, then I can get behind just betting river small to get value from an underpair, as if he jams river, our weak kicker might be an issue.(under the passive assumption)
I'd never check flop, but will play check turn/small bet pretty often to protect JJ-KK region
