2 pair in 3way pot - nl100

BN: $77.29
SB: $100
BB: $113.77
UTG: $22.20
HJ: $56.46
CO: $102.81 (Hero)
Preflop ($1.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt A 4
UTG folds, HJ raises to $2, Hero calls $2, BN folds, SB folds, BB calls $1
HJ was a fish. I'm not sure about my call here. Maybe 3betting would be slightly better? What do you think?
I assumed BB was a somewhat competent player, likely a reg.
Flop ($6.50) 4 A 7 (3 Players)
BB checks, HJ bets $2, Hero raises to $8.50, BB raises to $24, HJ folds, Hero calls $15.50
It gets weird here. Naturally I want to build up the pot against the fish but BB cold 3bets which looks a bit suspicious. I'm not sure if he plays his draws this way but I'd guess he would want to keep the fish in the pot but on the other hand he'd (should?) do so with his sets etc. His sizing is somewhat big and looked to me more like a valuebet than a semibluff with a flushdraw. There's still 1 combo of 44, 3 combos of 77, 2 combos of A7s (6 if he defends the offsuit ones) and 1 combo of A4s (4 if he defends all of them). I started thinking this might a fold on the flop but this seems way to nitty. I don't know.
Turn ($56.50) 4 A 7 9 (2 Players)
BB bets $24, Hero raises to $76.81, and is all in
After calling the flop hoping he has some flushdraws here I don't think we can play the turn differently.

What do you guys think?

Just a warning. I could be very wrong her. :)

PF: depends of the fish -aggro, passive?, folding a lot to cbet?,agro villains behind?

But in general my first instinct would be to isolate fish with A4s.

Flop: For the reasons you stated your self this is more often a set or A7 than anything else. I do believe he will just call FDs being first to act multiway and having a fish that we would like to keep in the hand.

Turn: His bet sizing is interesting... after you called flop I don't think he is ever expecting you to fold turn, especially to that sizing... so he might have bet that way with a made hand just to induce a shove.

The way PF was played I think it is very likely he has 44 or 77, something like KQs, KJ could have very well sqz PF.

I like small iso 3b pre, like 2.5x.

If BB is a reg folding flop for sure. With a fish in the pot he`s defending all of the Ax hands to a min raise, so when you raise a fish your range should always be stronger which means he`s range should be just nutted hands {77,44,A7s,A4s,A7o,A4o, 6d5d}.

He doesn`t have to slowplay 2p+ with a fish in the pot because fish can always overcall his flush draw or overplay his Ax, so raising is good.

Fold or 3b pre. I don't get why you would like to call a4s here with 0 dollars invested with 3 people behind left to act.

I got too distracted by how pretty this hand is :) Most of the time I 3bet this and I agree it should've been a 3bet here as well. We also don't have to make it big - 6 or 7bb would be enough - plus this hand doesn't flop that well in multiway pots.

We need more description than fish but surely we want to play pots with a
massive SPR and hands that can make the nuts in position to fish?  If the fish is 60/30 then maybe flatting opens us up to getting squeezed very often and we should 3bet instead.   But if the fish is something like 60/10 and/or the players to act behind us are not showing any propensity to squeeze I think calling is the best
option.

Calling pre is by far the worst option imo, and it isn't even close. A4s doesn't play that well in this spot as you seem to think. You're def calling too much if you call as weak hands as A4s (Or worse?)

I think there are some regulars when moving up in stakes who isn't adjusting properly. You're playing to get the weaker players money, isolate him or fold (Or at least call stronger hands which plays better). Everyone else behind get insane odds to overcall or squeeze. And even if the fish only opens 10% it isn't that big of a problem for someone to squeeze since you will never ever have anything good, and playing with a fish HU even if his range is 10% isn't the end of the world. If he's opening 10% I still wouldn't want to flat A4s since we're going to be dominated a lot and it's a crappy hand.
