1/2 live game river decision
1/2 NLHE live game
Hero AdKh (SB)
5 limp including Villain (BTN)
Hero raises to 17$
folds to Villain who calls (100BB deep i cover)
Flop : 7d 2h 9d
Hero bets 25$ , Villain calls
Turn 4h
Hero cheks Villain cheks
River 4c
Hero bets 75$ Villain raises to 175$
Hero ?
Villain is semifish with a respect to me , capable of doing some moves without any idea why and how. The reason i post the hand is i dont really see what hand can raise me on the river , as played he doesn`t have any sets , all draws missed ...
any toughts ?

"He doesn't have any sets"-uhhhhh why not? 22 fits his line perfectly as does 77. In a lot of 1/2 games the passive fish will even limp 99. So IMO he has all the sets. These guys will even limp JJ-QQ as ridiculous as that sounds.
I would probably just give up after he calls flop. Depending on the player I might fire a second barrel on turn and then shut down if called. 1/2 players are so god damn passive and bad you don't need to get fancy.
As played this is 100% a fold on river.
thanks for the response , well he cheked back IP the turn on a drawy board and i dont think he is ever cheking his sets there . i agree i should give up after flop
If he is a fish you know he will call with almost everything so after the cbet its a check and fold after him betting to you. The cbet with 2 overs and a bdf it's standard but stop when no diamonds appear on the turn.
