[10NL] Turn jam in a squeezed pot?
Hi guys,
Still the same problem for posting HHs, so I'll keep posting them as a link for the moment :/
So button is a weak regular on the tighter side, which makes me wonder if we still have value on the turn. I suqeezed on the larger side to get value from UTG who is a big CS. The reason of my jam is that I thought I had to protect my hand even if I probably beat his range by a margin of 2 to 5 percent, because a lot of rivers will put me in trouble. I also have one of my worst if not the worst hand to bluffcatch facing a river bet...
So I thought that given the fact that shoving always has positive EV, the correct play in this spot would be to jam. Am I wrong somewhere? Thanks!

Well played, would expect button to raise flops a decent amount of the time with sets. The 6x turn isn't great but with one PSB left behind, shoving seems like the best play. Flop is also pretty terrible for our range in general and would be checking it quite often but this hand does benefit from betting more than AA/KK
Thanks for your advice man :)
I don’t understand why it is better to bet this flop with JJ than it is AA/KK. Villain likely has 6 outs with two overs or he has a hand like 55-88, maybe even ATs..
the only bluff we can have when we bomb turn really is AQs+, occasionally JQ however given UTG is a CS we wouldn’t be wanting to play a big pot OOP with JQ which is why your range is pretty much JJ+ AQs+.. would like to check turns in this spot some % of the time and let villain float us.
I Wouldn’t be worried about too many river cards, villain likely has just 12% equity with his overs and just 4% with his pocket pairs that don’t have straight draws. I like two streets of value in these spots, but just don’t really see what is calling us that we beat as played given villain is tight..
sometimes I think you just have to be brave to get stacks and let villain put you on AK, which is impossible given how the hand has played out.. in these spots with SPR ~ 1, I base my action when OOP on what I would do if villain shoves.. if I call I just check and give him some rope.. it’s sooooo tempting to just ram it in when in villains shoes with all kinds of hands that we are absolutely crushing with this SPR..
I wouldn't be concerned about having enough bluffs Vs a calling station. The problem is if an overcard to the board comes we may lose action so prefer getting it in sooner. He is never folding top pair or a draw here but might check it back if we check which is a disaster
I think 1/4 bet/fold on every single street makes sense imo, just because I don't think that people would raise here with bluffs enough and also they aren't stabbing with overcards that often.
