[10NL] Go for double check raise or valuebet river?

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $25.05
SB: $6.01
BB: $10.15 (Hero)
UTG: $10.51
MP: $13.47
CO: $19.69
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BB with 7 7
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.35, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.25
Flop ($0.75) 7 2 A
Hero checks, MP checks
Turn ($0.75) 7 2 A T
Hero checks, MP bets $0.42, Hero raises to $1.59, MP calls $1.17
River ($3.93) 7 2 A T T
Hero bets $2.81, MP calls $2.81

Villain is an aggro fish. I expected him to have a lot of big aces since he rarely checks back flops, and these type of players love to c-bet Ahigh boards with air.

On the river I was thinking about check/raising him again to get stacks in but was scared he would check back or show AA.

In the end I just valuebet, maybe I should have gone higher? or check/raise?

His stats were 46/34 with 14%3bet and 100% cbet (8 times) and very aggro postflop stats.

If you think he has a lot of Aces in his range, why not bet turn? He might raise you and you are very happy with the situation.

As played, I like betting river. Bigger size is good. Aggro fish will call you down very wide. You can't worry about Aces; if you're beat, you're beat. His preflop sizing and general line looks to me like he has JJ-KK. These hands will usually call a fairly big river bet, but might not value bet river (what is he getting value from?). He could have a Ten, in which case you'll probably get stacks in anyway on the river.

Check-raise is a play you want to employ very rarely, and with good purpose. When you want value, it's much better to bet. Double check-raise is very fancy, you usually don't want to get into fancy play syndrome.

I like betting river. He shouldn't have a T in his hand here very often at all. I would expect an aggro opponent to bet Tx on the flop. I would be more inclined to get tricky some small % of the time if it went AT7 2 T since again, you are more likely to get a bet out of Tx when you check river looking to get him to bet.

I would be choosing between betting really huge size or max-size that he calls Ace on the river(slightly less than pot).
Vs most ''rec'' better to be betting turn and follow through river with big size.

If it's an agro fish, xr turn and river can be a good option. River tbh I would probably lean towards xr more than bet. I'm not at all concerned by AA (he might have it a tiny % but will have so much other stuff in his range to bet/call (or bet/3b) river with. Also, they will tend to 3b AA on turn quite a bit) side note if you do decide to bet, go for a big bet since they won't fold Ax or Tx basically ever.

The reason being I like the double xr is, they will likely bet Ax themselves for the most part, but also agro fish love to pounce on weakness when scare cards come out, like that Tx river. He can have a lot of busted draws that play this way. Like KQ/QJ/89/96/J9 etc etc and will probably bet really big a lot of times to try and make Ax fold. Then just jam over their bet and be very happy about it.

Not only does it make logical sense with our hand (and sometimes other hands we can bluff with, although that can get pretty dicey and high variance so need to be careful) but it also capitalises on our overall read. This guy is aggressive and a fish, so they like to bet and do it wayyy too much. Punish them for it :)

I'd shove the river, a big part of villains range is Ax so we want to maximize value againts that region. He can have Tx too which makes shoving even better.

Shove comes off super stronger to weaker players who might not give you credit for balancing it and might not want to bluff catch wheel aces that check back...absolutely bet river as villain will not always reopen action with ace but will likely call river bet
