100Zoom - Flop checkraise bluff gets a bad turn but good river

Villain seems like a decent reg. Not folding much to flop checkraises but this hand seems pretty good for it with the Ah backdoor flush draw.

Turn is very bad for my range as it cuts down my value combos and also makes KQ a little weaker too. So I opt to check/give up (I think this is standard?)

River is pretty close between a bet and a check. What do you guys think? Does it depend on villain a lot?

Also is preflop too loose a defend?

If some1 doesnt fold to xr i would play my ranges pretty exploitable

Eg i would simply start xraisin for pure value

As played i would lead river. Expect too much mediocre sdv in villains range that checks back, but might call a small bet

Yeah I think you are correct to lead the river. May I ask what you do if villain raises the river lead though? How much of their range is KK or QQ. Would these hands bet the turn?

i dont like the defend here against decend reg utg +1 open but as played  river is an easy ship no hands in his range that beat us. I dont like ur c/r here wwithout the read that he fold to any X/R so there are much better spot for such a move u just have 4 outs and no backdoors we cant even continue on an Ace cause he could have made a straight or 2 pair. And noone fold top pair for a single raise and he has a ton of kings in his range. River is a clear lead he checks way 2 often behind.

Yeah as soon as I checked I realised that villain will check behind a lot. I was hoping he'd go for thin value with AA or AK. As it happened he bet, I shipped and he tank folded so I guess he had one of those hands.

As for flop check raise I pretty much only did it because I had Ah so if there is a heart on the turn I can keep betting.

I also wouldn't defend this pre, especially if you have the read that we can't win the hand very much by raising somewhere.

But lets assume we were CO or BTN v BB, how would you play the flop then knowing that he doesn't like to fold to c/r? Just fold or peel because we likely have the best hand and decent backdoor equity?

I also think that him not folding to flop c/r doesn't mean we shouldn't c/r hands like that. If he keeps calling marginal hands, it could also be the case that he folds a lot to further barrels. Right now we only have enough info to conclude that we shouldn't c/r flop and giveup turn hardly ever.

Yeah in my opinion if someone is not folding to flop checkraises at an exploitable level (and people are getting better so there's fewer players these days that are) that doesn't mean we should never checkraise bluff them. It just means we have to be very selective which hands to do it with and I think that hand is a decent candidate for it. Looks like people don't like preflop defend so I'll probably just fold this in future.
