Weak pairs/suited connectors multiway
We are in the BB 100bb deep facing a raise and 3 flatcalls.
Do we defend 53s or 22? Are we too often dominated when we make our hand?

Too general of a question.
Raise size?
Positions of players?
Player reads?
What stage is tournament in?
EP 2.2x open
Reg flat MP
2 weak players flat LP
Early stage
Call but 53s and 22 are completely different types of hands.
53s can often be the lower flush but 22 will often be the best hand if you make a set.
If you can't get away from these post flop (especially 53s if you make a flush) when facing significant action and it's likely you're behind you may want to start folding pre.
Generally call both. You are getting 7-1 to 10-1 immediate pot odds and you are 7-1 to hit a set, so a very profitable call with any pp.
The main point here is that 2 recreational players called. This is a spot where we call very wide so 22 and 53s are fine calls. If it’s 3 tough regs it becomes closer. Always remember your main edge in these games come from playing pots vs weaker opponents.
I agree defend here less against tough opponents. However a small pp is a defend in the BB HU due to immediate pot odds, and it is better and better the more callers. It doesn't matter if they are the best players in the world.
