** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ Qd Jh ]
UTG limps
I call
SB completes Pot 200
BB checks
** Dealing Flop ** [ Jd, 6d, 2s ]
The blinds check and UTG bets $200. Because he has such a wide weak range I think it might be any pair and a steal attempt in a limped pot. I have top pair so I call and both blinds fold
Pot $600
** Dealing Turn ** [ Jc ]
UTG bets [600]
Hero calls [600]
Should this be a fold? If he has a better kicker such as AJ or KJ shouldn't he have raised preflop at a fairly passive table?
Pot $1,800
** Dealing River ** [ Kd ]
UtG bets [1800]
Hero?

Don't overlimp this hand preflop. I most likely just fold it in early position but if I'm going to play it I'm raising the UTG limper.
On the flop I don't mind just calling. When we turn trips on the turn and he pots we should be raising and getting our stack into the middle. He has all types of Jx and diamonds. Plus at this level he could spazz with a pocket pair because both jacks are out there.
But who knows what he does with KJ, AJ. Limping UTg here is pretty bad aside from a few hands.
I think this is a w/e spot, actually. He leans toward more AA/KK than some random offsuit Jx in my mind.
Sorry - w/e spot? As played fold river?
whatever. But maybe I have a bias since I called QJss on AJTssJK once and lost a lot of money to KJ in a 3b pot :/. Either option is fine, actually. But I rather fold.
He had AJ off and if I look again at his stats they do tell the story. He limps a really wide range and doesn't raise much preflop so AJ and KJ were very much in his range. Even so it seems unlikely that he would limp AA or KK as his PFR is 8 so it seems he raises these hands pre. His post flop aggression is not very high so probably when he bets he has something. He put me AI on the river and I called because I didn't think he had a flush lol. Good instincts Raphael
Are you making fun of me ? :(
I usually don't check much the stats on this type of guy because I am sure he is doing smth weird and I will get some bias from his stats. You did a great job on analyzing the stats.
My rule of thumb is, if a weaker player pots three times I just call with KK or KJ there.
No, not making fun at all. It was a bad hand to limp behind (correct point 1) He probably either had an overpair or a J with a better kicker......(correct points 2 and 3) all in all put myself in a bad position, by limping with this hand I put myself in a w/e situation
Avoid calling pot size bets on low stakes. That is my recommendation. GL man :D
I think that's so true....every once in a while I hero call correctly but for every one that I guess right there are 3 other spots where they have the stone nuts and you're either busted or crippled. Usually a monster. Choosing strong starting hands and playing in position really helps avoid bad spots too. Thanks for your help
Think limping QJ pre is the worst of the 3 options tbh. Even if this player is limping 100% of his range here you have players with reggish stats playing in position and your going to get squeezed a tonne and playing QJ OOP is pretty gross. AT least an iso raise allows you to rep strength later on if the situation requires it. QJ in general is a fold in EP I would only tend to play it when deep and my table image is getting to rocky.
Yes, very fishy of me. Even though the hand in many ways unfolded ideally (got to play IP, hit my hand pretty hard) I still lost a lot of chips. Kicker problems, kicker problems. Could have won a small pot but lost a big one. Unless you flop broadway or oesd usually not going to do too well
