Villain is loose passive 30/20 and has no real positional awareness. I think I went way too big with my raise but he called anyway. The flop came KJ9cc and I have to act first. ??? I only have about 2,300 left and there is almost 5600 in the pot. What would have been a better way to play this hand? It's early and far from the money

1.5k-1.8k seems ok preflop. No way I am folding. You can x/c since there aren't many overcards to fear or shove yourself. I usually shove but x/c seems ok also.
Actually I was mistaken with my notes above - I had just over 4k left so about a pot size bet...I did shove and he showed me J9dd.....amazing he called pf but you see everything in these mtts. If I had raised to 1.5k pf the pot would only be about 3k and I would have about 5k left. Would you bet the flop or xc? Trying to figure out if I could have gotten away on this flop or am I thinking about it in the wrong way? Is this a way ahead or way behind situation?
xc with almost 2 psb's left. against this player type I am not giving up on this texture. if he fires two times its a gross spot and I may manage to fold if I made 1.5k pre.
What is up with the huge 3b?!! Should be something like 1200-1700.
Anyways you have to shove and pray in this spot. You are way too pot committed. It is very unlikely he has a King here. (AK would have shoved preflop, and your QQ makes it unlikely he has KQ)
If you shove post flop then you give villain the chance to play perfectly against you?
There are draws that could call, but your mostly only going to be called by Kx or 2pair
Was the villain very aggressive post flop?
If so then x c would be a good line and weigh it up on further streets
If the villain is very passive post flop then options are there to either check or bet?
That's why I was wondering whether shoving here was completely bad but the board is also very wet.....of course any hand that hit this hard with a draw probably isn't going to fold
You could jam pre to balance range. But I think a smaller 3 bet to induce is better. Your pre flop bet size makes no sense. You said the the player is loose passive. Therefore I recommend check call.
Everyone hates my pf raise including me....I thought I had too many chips to jam pre but I think that's what I wanted to do. It probably would have worked out better
Do you recall why you raised so much and do you vary your 3 bet sizing?
Choke.......no not really. Ok I do. I was worried about playing my QQ out of position and wanted to make sure at the very worst I was hu. Would have been perfectly happy getting a fold too.
??
I would feel worse about it except I attended a webinar with Phil Helmuth entitled something like "How I won my upteenth WSOP bracelet:" and he said he was doing quite well at one point and looked down to see QQ. He immediately had a sinking feeling because he thought "i could get stacked with this hand" and the feeling was so powerful that he raised so big that he got all folds and was happy. *I could be remembering this slightly wrong.
Does my post qualify for the fishiest post ever?
You could lose the hand but you need to make it about 2.5x in position and 3x oop. Don't panic and see how it goes. Also I wouldnt take what the big names say to literally and these tournaments are different to what they are talking about. Listen to pros on this site.
Hi So Nitty, I forgot to say this is not the fishiest post ever, I hope we have plugged a leak in your game. keep posting.
