Strategy Advice (Unlimited Re-buy Tournament)

First here so be gentle, been playing poker for almost a year now.I have a small buy in live tournament this weekend with a decent guarantee in my usual card room, which i can usually either win or make a cash in.Will be playing against usual people I play with and i'm sure a few new faces with guarantee also. My question is what would the best strategy be to use in regards the tournaments starting stack and structure.
We usually play a freeze out but this will be an unlimited rebuy tournament.
Starting Stack is 10k with Blinds starting 100/200 and 30 Minute levels
Any advise with regards how I should approach and adjust to the different format?

I recomendable you make 1 rebuy before start and play from beginning with double stack, play tight during rebuy period, people in this kind of tournament its so crazy.

In general, especially if you are not used to playing re-buy tournaments, I wouldn't alter your play too much...

One way to think of is it that during the rebuy period, for any spot that is already close, you basically want to take the more aggressive / high-variance / getting-it-in option.

Now that doesn't mean that you get in 50bbs every time you have AJ, but it just means that if you are in what you would normally consider a tough spot with JJ or AK for example, you probably want to err on the side of gambling during those rebuy levels.

In short, taking a likely flip is not nearly as detrimental to your tournament EV as it would be in the early stages of a freezeout.

Ok, at first, it depends on your bankroll, can you afford without any problems lets say like 2 rebuys and add on? https://www.cardschat.com/rebuy-tournament-strategy.php this article helped me, I use the slightly loose strategy and it works to me. I often register on last 5 min of reentires and make a rebuy plus add on, that way I get sure about not making a non stop rebuy and going broke.

If you have an edge, use your rebuy at the start. You want to cover the weakest players at the table as early as possible.

One exception: if there is an add-on possibility and it is cheaper than the rebuy, then do not use your rebuy.

Have Inquired and supposedly I cannot take my rebut at the start, need to be at a certain chip[ count before you can rebuy. I did like the idea tho as I would definitely consider myself to have an edge in this particular game.

If you got the bankroll and the guts, look at your table and if lets say half of the players made a rebuy, you can do it too because it has no sense to do a double rebuy if no one else has

I cashed in 5th with no rebuy, as got doubled up early on.

Final hand was a raise to 3X from me on the button (18BB) with KQs, called by Chip leader in SB (100+BB) and also called by BB (20ish)

Flop Of K39 , check check and I shove for my remaining 15BB to get value from worse Kx and also any flush draw as 2 hearts on board. SB fold and BB calls with 99 :(

Any critique or advise on how I played that final hand would be welcome???

I think that you should probably open to a smaller sizing given your stack size and that of the BB but you're never not getting stacks in on the flop. You could bet something like 3bb into 9bb on the flop and then jam your remaining 12bb into 15bb on the turn if called too. It makes it tough to represent any low equity bluffs when you jam the flop but that might not be that big of a consideration in this specific situation. Also, congrats on the cash.

Never open x3 when blinds are that high, open 2x and then, on the flop you don't want to just push, why? not because you're afraid of something but because you will scare all hands that you beat, ok you will get paid by worse K (hard for them to have it) and draws (unlikely unless they are fishes) but you will never get value from hands like A9, 88, etc... I would bet like hal the pot for pushing any turn. Congratz!

I chose to go for 3X in this spot as they guy in the BB defends ridiculously wide if it doesn't cost him much, My thinking was that at this stage in the tournament that he would be playing somewhat tighter as he never gets this far and thus opted for a slightly bigger sizing to try get a fold from him but obviously not folding 9s there. But yeah I can see why I should be using smaller sizing at this stage in general considering my stack size and blinds.
Appreciate the advice guys :)
