No reads - the very first hand of the tournament
Preflop

I think this is standard, with such deep stacks, nothing much to add here
Flop

Villain check raises the flop, which I hit decently well. Called because I'm ahead of Asx ranges which might be c/r as semi bluffs, and have decent equity against overpairs with no spades, plus I have position and the pot to stack ratio is still pretty small.
Turn

The turn does not change much, though it does somewhat invalidate some of my flush outs, but it gives me full house outs if Villain has a flush that is crushingly ahead. If Villain was ahead on the flop, he would still be ahead on the turn. So, I call.
River

Villain jams for all of his stack!
With absolutely no reads, and a hand that can only beat a complete bluff, I fold. Thoughts?

No reason to rol over the limp of the sb at this stage with the T7o; fold to the check raise
Thanks - need to tighten up my play
+1. No offense, but you're trying too hard. I used to do stuff like this and I learned the hard way, if he's good then you're choosing to bloat the pot with a bad hand vs a good player, and if he's bad its even worse - one of the edges you should have over bad players is playing better hands than them - not necessarily in terms of brute force, you can still raise suited connectors and gappers and stuff, but you need something that will give you a bit of maneuverability on various board textures. Even if he's terrible postflop you're still going to be bloating the pot vs a lot of dominating hands and you'll never really know where you're at.
Just check behind when he limps, you have no idea what sort of player he is or how will react to anything you do, so be happy you get a free flop with your crappy hands and raise your good hands. When you do stuff like this you just put yourself in spots where you are playing guessing games with an absurdly weak range and no information .
You said is standard to start the agression in the first hand with 10 7 off OOP , im triying hard to see a good reason behind that, but i can't see any. Thats the mistake i think, the turn and river situation its ok to call/fold in my opinion-
I don't even think it is ok to peel the x/r flop, think about your overall range and I think you are more close to the bottom of your range cbetting that flop, and villain x/raising having no range advantage here usually indicates he is strong enough for me to be happy folding, and the range you stated up there is pretty optimistic (basically you saying that he'll be limping 88-QQ good amount of the time and x/raising them which I disagree) and we can never be sure about if villain will be playing aggresively all of his nut flusdraws (AsXy) and the dynamic of this board makes it more likely villain will be firing on later streets at good % of the time, which isn't neither good, just folding flop seems best for me (but even better to take the free flop)
Pre is fine
Flop I prolly check back
Rest of hand seems fine
Just fold the river unless youre afraid of not having much of an edge here...but I do love the idea of over shove bluffing the river :) Shoulder shrug #weightroom
*NOT much of an edge in the mtt I mean, as in youd want to take the EV rish chip wise to double up here quick.
250bb deep T7o is a very poor candidate to start raising pre. His x/r and turn bet are somewhat small and I don't mind what you done but folding turn seems a bit better against the average range that people play this flop and turn strategy. River just a straight forward fold.
