Starting equipment for MTT

I have the good fortune to play on a site where MTTs are very beatable. There often still multiple 40/10 players at final tables at $20+ buy in tourneys. It's like 2005. I also have the good fortune of a job where I have many days off in a row are common and I can study or play for hours at a time.

However, I have the bad fortune of having no idea about the real skills needed to play tournament poker. Still, even with questionable-to-bad judgment (and I do mean BAD) about shove/reraise and jam situations, I am doing pretty well in these tourneys. Early in tourneys cash game experience helps and and once I get to bubble situations and shorthanded play, old Sit n Go experience helps immensely.

I have hold em manager and the "From the Ground Up MTT". I have FlopZilla and the other equity calculator Owen uses in FTGU and I'm trying to pick which one suits me better.

Obviously the thing I need most is practice. What other technology and apps do I need?

Honestly at this stage probably nothing. Go through the course, set-up the HUD, review some hands with the equity calculators etc. Just keep working and mastering what you have for now. Results will come.

Johnathan.

Hey Count, thanks for chipping in here. What is the HUD? I feel like I have seen these online and it basically has stats for hands during tourneys.

I have been playing on ACR and I can't seem to find a way to set one up.

You just got to put the volume in by playing and just using the tools you have now and put in the study volume in. If your winning, know why your winning and if it's making the correct plays that is making you win then not much need to change anything. If your winning but ain't putting your chips in good spots then you need to fix that. If your losing your needing to look at why your losing. If it's losing a flip then perhaps yes you don't need to focus on that but rather look at if there is other spots earlier where you could of accumulated/not lost chips.

Modern poker theory, GTO+, and ICMizer. IMHO start with your end game first eg FTs and 20-40bb stacks as the errors are so costly.GL :)

Modern Poker Theory, Preflop Charts, an HUD to track/replay sessions, and some sort of solver to check post flop play.

Hello, which poker site you can suggest for starting out @ micro mtts?

I've noticed someone with starting from 0.55$ MTTs @ PokerStars, but I can't find those micro mtt's anymore there, the lowest ones are starting from 1,10$ (or maybe I didnt notice).
