Stars Sunday Million: 60BB with AQs in SB facing UTG+2 raise and 2 callers. 3bet or flat?

CO: 22782
BN: 8860
SB: 9660 (Hero)
BB: 10300
UTG: 9024
UTG1: 6029
UTG2: 8387
LJ: 14284
HJ: 9025
Preflop (240) (9 Players)
Hero was dealt A Q
UTG folds, UTG1 folds, UTG2 raises to 332, LJ folds, HJ calls 332, CO calls 332, BN folds

Villains in this situation were: 12/11, 32/17, 29/18 and BB was 13/6

Currently in a debate with someone whether this is a 3bet or flat because UTG+2 is a 12/11.  If we flat in the SB, BB likely will come in as well putting us OOP to 4 players.

Their arguments were:

1) we'll likely get reraised or flatted (maybe multiple times) and have to play a larger pot OOP

2) there's no antes so the open raiser likely is narrower than his range suggests

3) flatting will shower a larger profit

My arguments were:

1) first raise in poker means nothing

2) UTG+2 will fold over 50% of his range

3) i don't want to play OOP to 3+ and be guessing if i'm ahead or behind

In the era of re-entry, I can't conceive how this would ever be considered a flat where as in a normal freezeout and smaller buy-in (i.e. more exploitable fields) perhaps flatting might be better.  HU i may flat as well but never against 3+.

Id make 1300ish hoping to play heads up with either utg2 or hj, n maybe take the pot down pre flop, you dont want to 3bet smaller cuz if utg+1 calls, given utg+2 and hj HUDs, they will most likely peel, so our goal with 3betting is making a size where utg will fold given his tight image and see a flop heads up. Against possibly 4 players I dont like flatting here, AQ suited does play better flatting rather than 3 betting, if the action was folded to me vs utg+1 open Id definitely flat, it has better playability than AQo and i wouldnt want to get 4betted pre antes, but I dnt like playing this hand multiway, n dnt mind bloating the pot a bit in order to play heads up or take the pot down.

I think pre ante it's a flat all day long.

But with a hand this strong a good sized 3 bet can never be bad. I just think you risk getting staked too easily at this stage of the tounry.

Peel pls. Flop royal flush and move onwards from there. Totally unnecessary here to bloat, and even have a way more difficult spot OOP in a bloated pot pre ante.

you're turning your hand into a bluff if you 3 bet and pretty much allow them to play perfectly against you with their ranges.....you also set yourself up to get owned by the original raiser.

flatting seems better because we keep in hands we dominate, which makes up a big part of their flatting ranges.

because it's pre ante, people are less likely to be bluff raising flops, especially in multiway pots.  so the idea of, raising to "find out where we are", just doesn't apply here imo.

Flat seems best. I could fold AQo here (but don't tell anyone).

My arguments were:
1) first raise in poker means nothing
2) UTG+2 will fold over 50% of his range
3) i don't want to play OOP to 3+ and be guessing if i'm ahead or behind

1) Means he has a hand in the top 7% or so if he's 12/11 overall.
2) Will continue with the stronger 50% of his range
3) You'll be playing OOP in a bloated pot, with a lower SPR and guessing if you're ahead or behind if one villain, or more, flats, or raises.

Also, is the SM re-entry now? (I've been stuck in the micros too long)
