So I'm 4/6 and decently ahead of the 10bb and 13bb stacks. The guy opening from utg is quite loose pre. His raise first in in ep is 31% (4/13). I got a premium hand. Normally I would 3bet here, blocking aa and kk, but since ICM is quite a big factor here I wanted to keep the pot small and decided to flat.
Questions pre:
-should I ever 3bet here? The guy did fold to 3bets quite a bit. 71% (5/7). My thinking was mostly i'd like to keep the pot small due to ICM
-should I ever fold here and really only play super premium hands (aa) since busting is an ICM disaster
Postflop I sort of have to go with my hand I felt at the time. Later I thought I could have possibly called his big cbet and wait for a non club non king or ace and donkshove the turn. But then I would also be folding the best hand a certain percentage of the time if he decided to barrel which is quite likely given my line and given his propensities
Question postflop:
-would anybody have played it differently?
I guess my biggest question is: how ICM disasterous was my decision to play the hand and should I possibly (almost) not play any as long as the shorties are in. I do have to also mention though that the shortest guy was playing 13/3 over a decent sample and really nitting it up. The other guy also hadn't played a single hand yet in 12 hands at the ft. So waiting for them to bust could definitely cost me half my stack (if they even were to bust) and really cost me the chance to win the thing
Prizemoney btw: 6th=$4.5k, 5th=$7.5k, 4th=$10.5k, ...., 1st=$26k
