Is ACR safe to play MTTs on?

Is it safe to play MTTs on ACR? I've heard so many bad things about cheating / bots on the site, so I'm hesitant to play on there. However, as an American, it seems like ACR has the best MTT schedule to play in terms of prize pool size. If you have any experience/strong opinion on whether it's safe to play on ACR, I'd love to hear it. Thanks

Here's my opinion on ACR tournaments:

The Bad:

The new software sucks. Like, it is really bad. Just not very intuitive and a downgrade from their old software. Also, the site often has many issues with tournaments being cancelled and crashing. Just this past Sunday I was playing a session and every tournament I was in got cancelled (3 tournaments). On top of that, they do have major problems with Bots, though I think that is more of a cash game problem. Additionally, I know a lot of MTT stables deploy their players on ACR, which means a lot of the good regs are pooling hands and doing very effective database study on the population and specific players. IMO the biggest negative factor about ACR is that they seem to be completely incompetent when it comes to their software and pipeline. Shit breaks all the time and they don't seem to have the expertise to build out a proper robust platform.

The Good:

Tournament structures are very good. Much better than Bovada. More play, more opportunity to capitalize on edge. At small and mid stakes, there are plenty of fish and bad regs. Although tournaments frequently get cancelled, I have always received a fair ICM chop payout every time a tournament is cancelled, and to be honest I see this as a variance reduction and don't really mind that they get cancelled as long as I get paid out per their TOS. Also they have fairly fast deposit/cashout with Bitcoin. The guaranteeds are also larger than Bovada, but also much larger fields and higher variance and tougher pools in general. There is also often overlay in certain events and they run very high value satellites.

Summary:

If you are a USA player and are serious about maximizing your hourly/monthly/yearly earn in MTTs, in my opinion adding some ACR games to your schedule is worthwhile. Just keep a minimal balance on there and cash out often. I would not be surprised to see the site disappear some day, and I'm not confident I would receive all my funds if that happened. You just have to be at peace with dealing with the software issues and go into it knowing that your tournaments will get cancelled from time to time, especially on big Sundays.

Hey, thought I would post an update as I just recently tried to cash out a small amount and ACR is not allowing me to cash out. The cashout was cancelled and the following reason was given in an email:

As far as I know, this is new. I'm a little confused at what they are trying to say in the email - "you must generate at least 10% of rake revenue over the amount deposited to be eligible for payout" - WTF??? Does that mean I have to contribute my whole deposit amount PLUS 10% in rake to cash out? Does that mean 10% of the depsoit, as in if I deposit $1k, I need to generate $100 in rake to cash out?

Not really sure, but wanted to share.

FWIW - I just called their support line and was told I need to rake 10% of my deposit before I can cashout. e.g. if I deposited $1k I need to rake $100 or more before I can cash out any winnings. That is a bit annoying but guess I'll just play enough to generate this rake amount and then cash out.

It crashed again today. Lol. It constantly crashes on Sunday! So, in that sense, NO it is not "safe" to play on ACR. Hopefully they get their act together before this upcoming OSS series.

They crash almost every Sunday. I've wasted many hours deep in a tourney for it to crash...That being said it has a ton of daily tourneys and is the only site I have access to in the USA.

Play at your own risk I guess.

Ignition / Bovada should work for you, Nico. And BTC deposit / cashout has been reliable for me on that network, and the site has never crashed. I DID have some (minor) d/c issues while playing on my laptop with wifi, but my desktop running an ethernet into the router has been flawless.
