Ok, so I'm not really here to cry about a bad beat. I get it. I know they happen. But how often are they supposed to happen? I feel like this happens to me over and over. Everytime I get in a tourney I do ok, make a fairly deep run with a healthy stack, end up in a hand like this where one (or more) players suckout. I get it in good and get outdrawn by a hand I could've never expected.
This particular hand isn't too bad. But constantly losing flips to someone hitting a straight with some crazy 72o hand? I know even that type of hand has some equity but it seems to happen a lot. At least 3 or 4 times a day. And that's just the unbelievable suckouts. I'm not counting stuff like AQ vs AJ and villain hits a J. That I'm totally fine with, that's normal.
I've recently tried to be a bit more aggressive in my games. I'm usually a timid player, rarely 3betting, almost never raising in multiways (which I think is right...right?) But since I've started that I've had a lot more bubbles and a lot less final tables.
Anyway, I'm just wondering how often these sorta suckouts happen? I play 3 to 4 mtts a day. All full ring, reg speed mtts. No turbos anymore. However, when I played turbo sngs I did much better.
I feel like either I don't understand how normal/abnormal this may be, or that I have some leaks, or skill problems.
If someone could give me a little insight on how often you face suckouts like this I'd really appreciate it.
