Due to his stats, Vilain looks really tight. His 3betting range from BB vs. UTG might be only value oriented and so, super strong, maybe something like QQ+, AK. Considering his bet otf and the shove ott, I would say he's only doing that with AK or AA. Against a more aggro opponent, calling this turn would be more closer. But in this spot and in low-limits in general (except against crazy guys), I think it's just a mistake to call here because he has you crush with 100% of his range. And you have better hands to call ott like AK (just flat preflop here), 88 and maybe sometimes AA but against his super strong 3betting range, I'd prefer to fastplay and 4bet most of my aces prefllop.
Against a solid reg in higher limits, it would be a very tough spot and a hard fold to make ott but here, it's a clear fold.
Is it a mistake to fold preflop again this guy ?
I don't think so, I was thinking about that and considering his range, obv it's not a mistake, it's a clever exploit. I'd rather like to call AJs and AQs and try to hit a flush or something huge against him.
FWIW, SB called. Do we think his squeezing range is identical to his 3bet range vs only UTG? If not I think we can include more combos than pure value in his range?
While I agree with Matcofly in that opponents at the lower stakes tend to under 3bet preflop from the BB, a sample size of 69 hands isn't anywhere near significant to make such drastic exploitable folds.
UTG in this situation is effectively the HJ. When we think of our range on this flop AQ is our strongest single paired hand (as we 4bet AK preflop), we most likely don't have any 2 pair combos (the reason being that population at these stakes most likely under-bluff squeeze and therefore an adjustment I may be folding A8s/A4s preflop depending on the villain. Therefore on this flop against population our strongest hands here will be AQ/88 (as we should fold 44 preflop), therefore we should never be folding top of the range here, unless we have some very solid reads to make the exploitable fold.
IMO the way you played the hand is very standard and just a cooler.
