im thinking thinking, and what i dont like there is 3 bet of utg open with AQo, its wider then i do like tho some do play like that, you can ofcourse but with intention to fold to 4 bet, 4 bet can very few hands most are ahead of your AQ that early in game where stacks arenot shallow and everyone is puushing whatever ace in hand, 4 bet will come from KK AA AK in general, so i think you gotta fold it cause you are behind
at some other spot in game AQ can be a 3 bet shove, but tthats too early for it and , i stil dont like 3 bet versus utg open, specially not in UTG + 1 where so many players behind can opt for a squeeze
Maybe would be better if you were on button or one of the blinds spot for such play
You could flat pre but you'd still need to call off vs. the shover with a hand this strong. I would advocate flatting pre next time in general, though. Your hand is far too strong to fold vs. a single open so don't consider that to be an option.
I wouldn't normally 3bet an UTG open if we were deeper, but given that UTG only has 20bb I decided that I'd be willing to get it in vs his 4bet range. Problem is, the CO's cold 4betting range is nutted like always here.
We're getting like 3 to one here and he's going to also jam hands like TT and JJ. Seems incorrect to fold and it's just a crap spot.
Have to call after you 3bet, flat pre...
I like the 3 bet better then a flat...a 29 bigs open UTG does not have to mean strong hand...and ppl are really opening wide utg these days...if he 4 bets its easy fold...if we 3 bet we have control in pos...if we flat we have no info about his hand and he can easily barrel us of the best hand...... the cutoff just happens to have a hand with that money invested i dont see how we can fold to a 13 bigs shove wich can easily be a flip or even aj or AT
What are your reasons for 3b UTG pre? I feel this makes your hand looks very strong. In what ways can you get value from worse Ax hands like AT and AJ? I would say flatting would be a better option here. Does he flat AT and AJ OOP at these stack depths?
As played you need 25% equity against his range. Even against a really tight range of JJ+,AK you have 28.151% equity so you have to call.
Agree with ´´jamo´´ . Against an unknown and with no stats , i like a flat in this spot . And obv a call against the short stack (hes definetely shoving 99+, even AJs so it´s a nonbrainer)
I prefer call open and easy call against CO if utg folds.
