Big 27.50. Should I Continue betting turn?

Blinds: t100/t200 (9 Players) BB: 11,797
UTG: 2,461
UTG+1: 11,018
MP: 6,709 (Hero)
MP+1: 5,456
MP+2: 5,551
CO: 20,841
BN: 8,353
SB: 4,714
Preflop (300) Hero is MP with 8 J
2 folds, Hero raises to 400, 5 folds, BB calls 200
Flop (1,125) 2 J 9
BB checks, Hero bets 655, BB calls 655
Turn (2,435) 2 J 9 8
BB checks, Hero checks
River (2,435) 2 J 9 8 9
BB bets 1,800, Hero folds
Final Pot BB wins 2,435

BB is a fish who is running really laggy and calling light. I think i missed a turn continuation bet. I thought turn hits a lot of his calling range and if he C/R me id be in a tough situation which is why i checked. River is a really bad card and he donks huge. I think i made the correct fold as he would definitely flat a 9 there He could of been betting with a missed FD or a J. What you guys think?

I bet the turn in order to get the maximum value against his range. You want to exploit his leak (the fact that he calls too loose).

Yes bet the turn about half pot or a bit more for value. If raised I think I might go with it as they could have loads of draws in there range and worse two pairs. I think the way you played it folding river was correct.

Check back flop, bet turn. J8s is probably the bottom of your Jx hands and this two tone Jxx board is one of the protection is less important from all boards from this category.
