Hello,
it's hand played by a friend of mine, 55$ BI on Pacific Poker. UTG is fishy looking guy (40/0 over 15hands) LJ is a reg on a tighter side- 13/12 over 400 hands. What is your preflop gameplan? What do you think about this 3bet? Is call and playing cautios on low flops an option (especially when fish is raising 3x UTG)? And last but not least - what do you think about just folding pre after suspicious action? Thanks in advance for your thoughts on that spot.

When a tight reg flats here with 20bb, it kinda sets off alarm bells. However, this was probably utg's first open raise, so LJ could sometimes be calling with a mid-pair, AQ, etc type hand that he didn't feel like jamming in that spot. So, I don't think I could find a preflop fold. I dislike the 3 bet because the action is suspicious and you'll be committed to calling shoves. So, I probably just call IP and evaluate the flop

Agree with prior responses, I would flat pre. I think folding pre is too weak with JJ, but I do believe that both opponents' ranges are pretty strong here and I do not like 3betting.

Can't agree. LJ never flat here middle pairs on 20bb. Set mining? When utg open 3x? Really don't think so. It's look like trap and i propably going to crying fold here. What's your plan when you are flat? Coming flop 8xx and you are going to risk half on your chips in spot, when you are don't know exactly where you are. That 3bet look weak, but it let you know then LJ get monsters here, because i don't think he gonna flat ak, aq and middle pairs here and then ship them after your 3bet.

If you flat what are you doing on flops that doesn't give you a set? There's 3k n the pot and they have UTG ~6,1k and LJ ~5,2k so there's not that much room to play.

I wouldn't say flatting JJ here is purely setmining. Yes, the LJ's flat does look strong, but I think it is a reach to put him solely on QQ+ here. I don't think folding pre is awful, but I believe it is inferior to flatting. On low flops I would be proceeding with caution, and likely folding if there is a bet and call in front of me.

I would 3b here without reads of the 20bbs stack. And most likely get it in vs the 20bbs if he then decides to jam. Reason for 3betting mostly is getting more value from the fish though.

However, I think 3betting here is a mistake for the reason that the 20bb tag is never set mining here. I think about the only chance he has a weak hand here is if he made a misclick or misread his own stack.

I would flat here and make further decinsions based on flop and turn action. (Note: This isnt set-mining)
