Dealt to Hero [ As 3h ]
UTG min raises - he has been very active and he loves to open early from his big stack with mediocre hands - Q2s, A7 off, 22 etc. The players in the blinds are very tight and they won't call unless they have AQ+. There is only 1 shorter player than me. Call or shove? A3 too weak? I've been short stacked for a while, folding mostly and looking for good shove spots

what are the blinds? whats the range you think he's opening and what range do you think he's calling your shove?
Just added the blinds.....I had less than 10BB and his utg range included hands like Q2s, 22, weak As. Of course I know I don't have much fold equity but honestly I thought I might have the best hand
Now that you mention it though he did have a propensity to call off even with the bottom of his range - that's why I know what it is
Ok - I ran it against his entire range and I'm only 46% and I know he will probably call with anything he opened. I was just thinking of all the weak Ks and Qs near the bottom of his range. I have to make a move during this orbit and the table has been surprisingly active besides the current blinds
I would fold. Zero fold equity and probably the guy is just running over the table by the stack. try to fold and find another spots to reshove weak hands as A3, specially with FE.
I wasn't getting many good spots because although I should have been able to steal from the blinds because they are tight the players in MP were beating me to it because all they could see was 3 tight players in a row. The small stack seemed content to blind off so maybe I should have waited til he did that but if I did I probably wouldn't have enough chips left to finish any higher than 6th even if I eventually did win a flip.
Anyway UTG snap called with Qh Js (by no means the bottom of his range) and a J came on the turn and I was out. Equilab says I was 56% against his actual hand which is all I had hoped for.
So this was bad? 7th paid me $170 and 6th place got $230 by waiting me out. Should have been the other way around lol
i can not that say that this is bad but is an icm poor result since there is a guy shorter than you and your double up won't change much since everyone has at least 3x more chips than you
Thank you for your tact....it was bothering me and that's why I posted it. I must learn patience especially at FTs and how to better strategise
(: gl bro
