33$ 6-max turbo: KK on A high board

HJ: 23848
CO: 31112 (Hero)
BN: 16930
SB: 30800
BB: 48313
UTG: 20752
Hey everyone,

when the hand occured only thing I knew about villain was that he is a reg.
Preflop (1200) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt K K
UTG folds, HJ folds, Hero raises to 1744, BN folds, SB folds, BB raises to 4000, Hero calls 2256
In retroperspective I like 4betting better just because we don't know what range villain is 3betting and what he is going to do postflop.
Flop (9200) 2 A 6 (2 Players)
BB bets 3200, Hero calls 3200
He should be c-betting 100%. I mean he might check weak Ax up to maybe AT because he probably won't get 3 streets value and is rather isolating himself against the stronger part of my range. But on the other hand those are the only hands he can check with, so he probably just cbets 100% to protect his bluffs and stuff.
Turn (15600) 2 A 6 9 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks
When he checks I think he is either giving up or has a hand that has showdown value but won't get 3 streets value like AJ and worse Ax.
River (15600) 2 A 6 9 8 (2 Players)
BB bets 9200
I don't think I can profitably bluffcatch in that spot because I don't represent a range that is folding often enough and I am pretty sure villain is aware of that. I mostly have AT-AK, maybe TT and JJ and rarely QQ+. It is hard to put him on a range because we don't know how wide his preflop range is. Nevertheless I see him valuebetting against the biggest part of my range right here.

Please let me know where I could have been wrong and what your thoughts are, I appreciate it!

Thanks everybody

I like your thoughts in general. I'm also 4betting preflop. I think there's a big chance we're getting it in, as he shouldn't be 3betting you light when you're opening from the cutoff even though he's in the big blinds and you're somehow deep. I would only think of calling some times if we opened from the button, as he'll then 3bet a wider range.

I like your thoughts on the other streets. The way the hands is played river looks like him wanting to get maximum value out of his hand and squeezing it bigger due to the value he lost on the turn. Though I wouldn't expect this from a reg. So this could also look like a bluff, but again - I would expect a reg to know this. So it's close and I think a fold is fine here. Nice hand.

I'm 4betting 95% of times in this spot, something like 88+ AJs+ seems a suitable range facing this action, you are almost crushing that range, something like 8900 seems OK, didn't think he's folding TT/JJ.

As played I love that line and also your thoughts, don't know if i'm ever finding fold button in this spot cause we are really underappin our hand, but actually can't find much SDV he's turning in bluff. I agree he's valuetowning us very often in these spot knowing he can't get more than two streets of value.

NICE FOLD

Unfortunate but it's a fold river for me, too.

I do like your hindsight on it and a 4b here to around 7.6k lets him click it back if he wants to around 11k and you shove. Or you can leverage and go around 9k as ImaAggroFish suggests to get him to shove or fold his range. Kind of depends how light you expect villain to be. If he's often light I like smaller 4b but if he's fit or fold pre then 9k.
