$215 with 19BB behind on BTN facing shove from pseudo-maniac SB who covers for 19BB more

LJ: 31705
HJ: 6750
CO: 13840
BN: 12681
SB: 20240
BB: 10120
UTG: 27519
Preflop (900) (7 Players)
UTG folds, LJ folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN raises to 1399, SB raises to 19880, and is all in, BB folds

Hero has just observed a maniac BB who shipped Q6s for 15BB against a BTN minraise and has now doubled.

The very next hand we are on the button and have 66 for a 2.3x raise and are faced with another shove for 19BB more.

Is it too nitty/weak to consider this an easy fold and wait for a better spot?

If you're not comfortable raise/calling, why not open shoving yourself?

i'm comfortable calling when i feel my hand has an edge over their range.  i'm not a nit by any means but i rather avoid slightly ahead/way behind scenarios calling off 20BB.  just curious what others think.  this is not a call for me unless a blind is shoving steals at a high rate.  this was just an instance of two back to back hands and while this wasn't a situation i was faced with, it was one i observed as the button snap called it which i felt was a leak

In highstakes games i think we should take small EV edges w 20bb, and also in general think that people vastly overestimate their edge w 20bb stacks regardless. However in $215 games our edge is going to be minimal anyways, so if we get a maniac to jam w a very wide range to our button open, im kinda fistpumpcalling w 66 here. Yes we're flipping vs a ton, but if he's ripping Q6s, he's also ripping A2s, or other hands we have a significant equity edge against.

On a sidenote, if you are opening for 2.3x and folding, then don't open for 2.3x but 2x. It's just bad to give that extra .3x for free. If you have 66 OTB and you are 'worried' to get shoved on, shove yourself.

Most people who just double and show down a trash hand aren't going to jam lightly, as they'll "take a hand off" to enjoy their new found chips.

I think we can either r/f here or shove. I'm more inclined to r/f with our effective stack size.

This is true, but knowing that people will think like u do, it's also an excellent spot to shove here for the arguments you mentioned.

Someone who thinks its reasonable to shove Q6s for 15 bbs in a similar spot isn't suddenly going to bring in his range a ton. For you to be correct to fold 66, villain has to be folding hands like A7s, 44, or KJo to your btn open. That's a huge difference in strategy. No amount of history is going to cause such a sharp change.

I agree that villain is rarely going to make this play so wide 2 hands in a row, especially since the shove has fold out BB and the BTN raise, unless they're a total drooler.  It's just too likely we will be inclined to want to make a call even wider than normal.

Even though this is a virtual equity flip against a wide 3bet shoving range, i've just always been in the camp that there's some merit to folding away the 2BB and getting in a steal or resteal to recover these lost BB and having fold equity rather than calling all-in at the bottom of my range.  I tend to only go with the bottom of my ranges with lower effective stacks (< 15BB) or close to blind increases for obvious reasons.

One of very very few spots that I dont mind an open shove, even though your pretty much playing your hand face up. I would raise/call, I just dont think we can pass up on these small edges on these stacks against people who are reshipping correctly, but Im interested in everyones thoughts on these close/marginal spots. I think hes surely shipping 22-55, A2-A6 and its a nightmare if we are folding out our equity when hes shoving these, even though thats not a significant portion of his range and the rest of his range does well against us.

i like shoving more i was watching koons vid a couple days ago and he just liked shoving more (at least in a final table) w icm....at this stage it can be argued that r/c is better, but folding is just not even in the discussion
