$12 Freezeout 10 players remain

So, this is a spot I find comes up often and I am never certain what the correct or best play is. Sometimes it works out great (in this case) whereas other times I do get called and will have 15-40% equity to win. I just wanted some opinions on this spot. So I will provide some context:

There were ten players remaining in the tournament. Currently, my image on the table is very tight. I was folding many hands due to aggression of opponents and being card dead. This spot came up and I decided to take it because my image was very tight and my stack was getting shorter. Is this a spot that is profitable in the long run? Is this a spot that is worth the risk given that I will be at the final table once one more player is out? I do not remember the payout structures exactly, but the pay jumps didn't get substantial until 6 players were left.
